  1. Windows laptop quiet volume problem

Hi I have an HP running Windows 10 and this seems to be a problem that happens over time is the volume gets quieter and quieter. It's happened before on other laptops I've owned over time, a Dell and an Acer but the only thing consistent is the OS. It's the worst in browsers and in games.

The volume is maxed in the Volume Mixer and in Sound Settings but the Master Volume in the Sound Settings even though it's set to 100, the actual volume playing indicating never goes above about 5%. I've run the troubleshooter and I don't know where else to check.

It's so bad that something like ambient sound like traffic outside the window (even with the windows closed) makes it so I can't hear dialogue in movies and videos and games.

Is there anything else I can do to reverse this?

Thanks in advance Windows laptop quiet volume problem :)

Earphone volume too loud or too quiet on Windows 10

Hi I'm having a weird problem on my laptop running Windows 10 Pro. The earphone volume is either too loud or too quiet, and seems to switch between these two upon every restart. When it's too loud, keeping it at 1/100 is equivalent to 20-30/100 when sound was normal, when it's too quiet, keeping it at 100/100 is equivalent to 10-20/100 when sound was normal. Already googled extensively and tried pretty much every suggestion I found with no results:

    • Enable/disable loudness equalization in playback device settings
    • Enable/disable Windows Sonic for headphones in playback device settings
    • Check for errors in sound devices in device manager - no errors
    • Update sound drivers - all updated
    • Try different earphones - tried like 4 already, definitely not an issue with earphones
    • Even tried system restore, still not fixed

Does anyone know what else to try?

Windows 10 Action Center Stuck in Quiet Hours

Hi, I find this interesting (in a warped, twisted sort of way *Wink)
Set Quiet Hours in Windows 10 - Windows Help -

Set Quiet Hours in Windows 10

    Applies to Windows 10
Quiet Hours are times of day when you don't want to be disturbed by notifications. How to set them up:

    • 1. Click the Action Center icon on the taskbar.
    • 2. Click Quiet hours.
      3. Set your Quiet Hours.
The last (3) seems to suggest there is a setting - but as you - and others- have observed it seems to be just an on/off button now.

    E.g.
Windows 10: No scheduled Quiet Hours? - Windows Central Forums
I've not seen Quiet hours on, so can't comment on your other query, sorry.
