    Bootcamp puzzle

    Hey there fellow PC users,

there's a bit of a problem with my computer. For a long time, I was an apple fanboy, but since they switched to AMD GPUs I had to make a change. I need those green cards for my daily work. - I decided to stop relying on apple for hardware. About four years ago, I set up a Hackintosh. After a couple of months, I realized that this wasn't the best option in a working environment. Just could not get a hang on hunting down ktexts. Now comes the biggest mistakes and I'm not talking about the switch to windows 10. No, the fact that I used Bootcamp on a Hackintosh to install Windows.

After installing I worked in macOS and Windows. The more I used windows, the more I started to like it. The differences were really marginal to me. So I stopped booting into macOS. After a year I decided to get rid of my mac partition and free up space for windows.

This killed also the bootloader from Bootcamp. So I couldn't boot into windows. Somehow I managed to manually set up a master boot record (mbr) bootloader on my windows disk via the installation medium. This partition I only 100MB. After that, I never had a problem. Windows booted, I could work and was happy.

Recently I wanted to update to the newest build. I'm now on Win 1809 (Build 17763.1098). I got the error code 0x800703ee. I tried to troubleshoot this error, but the found solutions didn't work. I stumbled on a post, that there has to be a 600MB system reserved partition for feature updates.

I managed to add 600MB of unallocated space to my main drive. Now I don't know how I could five that to windows and if I have to install something on that partition. - I also heard that mbr isn't the way to go.

So there are three solution routes:

1: Fresh install: As I'm in a working environment, I can't reinstall windows. Maybe I could that during the holidays. I know this would be the cleanest route.

2: Install from backup: I backed the drive on my Synology NAS. I wondered if I create an installation medium in Active Backup for business, would this create all the necessary partitions and then installs windows from my backup or will it create the same mess in my partitions?

3: Create the necessary bootloader/stuff on my 600MB partition via cmd

I know my way around computers, but the solution to this task is ab bit too specific, as I am not really aware of bootloaders.

Hope someone could help me in this misery.
I am thankful for any advice.

    Best regards
    Oliver

    :)

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community forums.

The limit of 4 custom puzzles is due to the UserPuzzles folder being full. To add more than 4 custom puzzles, I suggest you to try the steps listed below and check if it works.

    • Open File Explorer and navigate to the following location:
    C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.MicrosoftJigsaw_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState\UserPuzzles\UserPuzzlesPack

    Note: UserName is your username.

    • Delete or Rename the folder
      UserPuzzles inside UserPuzzlesPack.
    • Delete or Rename the file:
      puzzles.xml
    • Exit File Explorer and try creating the custom puzzles again.

If you’re speaking about moving the user puzzle files, you may copy it to any desired location. For more information, I suggest you to go through
Microsoft Casual Games FAQ and post the query in
    the Casual Games community.

    Hope it helps.
