Is LOCK supposed to turn off power to PC?

On my Old Dell 1440 I run Windows 10 20H2 and use the LOCK (off Start Menu) when I am finished. I am using the Laptop only on AC power usually. I have noticed since about last 1-2 weeks that my PC never powers off, i.e., Power Button remains on. Prior to that, when I did a LOCK the PC would eventually power down and button would go off.

Which is the correct operation? LOCK and Power Button light remains ON forever, or LOCK and power button light and light goes off ? It in the past would power down after some time period. Now, after no changes to my POWER options it stays on forever unless I specifically shut down. Note: the differnence may have begun after installation of Windows 10 29H2.

    :)

  2. PC Build Steps

Ok just because I like steps i am going to create some steps. Please give me the stamp of approval/disapproval
    • Install system in case
      • Remember to connect SSD and optical to same SATA ports on motherboard
    • Turn on PC
    • setup HDD
    • run blend test in prime95 for 30-60 min
      • run realtemp at the same time
    • While in Prime95 test
      • if CPU goes above 70c in RealTemp, I have a leaky CPU
      • if my system locks up or blue screens, there is an instability in the system somewhere
      • if my system does not lock up or blue screen, my CPU is not damaged and I am in the clear!
    What do you guys think??
