    Scandisk card reader not working


    I have a Scandisk cf card reader that has been changed to a Genesys Logic card reader by the installation of the wrong driver.

    I am using a Windows 10 PC.

    Now the card reader is not visible in This PC though I can see it in Device manager but can no longer access the files on the card.

    The reader works on another PC fine no problems.

    Hi,

    There are several reasons why your SD card reader is not working. To assist you better, kindly answer the questions below:

    • Have you made any changes to your computer prior to this issue?
    • What are the other troubleshooting steps have you done so for?
    • Have you tried to use another SD card reader and see if it is getting recognized or detected by your computer?

    How to use Scandisk on Windows 10?

    Hi,

    I suggest you to follow the steps below to run Scandisk.

    • Press Windows key + E on your keyboard to open File Explorer.
    • In the File Explorer window, click on This PC in the left navigation pane.
    • A list of drives is displayed on the right side of the window. Right-click on the drive you want to run Scandisk on and select
      Properties.
    • In the Properties window, click on the Tools tab.
    • Click the Check button in the Error Checking section.
    • The computer needs to restart to run Scandisk without any interruptions.

    RE: Stand alone card reader & internal card reader

    I have an HP Envy/Phoenix machine with several built-in card readers. I thought at first it wasn't recognizing but then I found it.

    In Windows 8.1: The card reader would display in File Explorer automatically.

    In Windows 10: I had to 'ok' it in the new "Action Center" (bottom right, see icon that looks like a square speaking bubble". When I opened that, I needed to click "what to do with this...". Once I did that and then went back to File Explorer the card
    reader (internal and the stand alone ScanDisk reader I have was recognized.

    Hope you're able to get yours to work!
