  1. I keep getting this problem when trying to watch videos on a browser on my laptop while...

Hello, this is my first time posting here so I don't know if I put the correct flair.

So basically, a problem occured today on my laptop about an hour ago. I was going to watch a movie on Disney+ but as soon as the movie started, I noticed the video stutter a lot and then it seemed to have a weird white filter on top of it. The video sometimes goes back to normal for like 2 seconds and then it goes back to being white. I tried watching YouTube videos and they all had the same problem. Then, I tried using a different browser but the same problem still occured.

This problem only happens when I connect my laptop to my screen. As soon as I disconnect it, videos play normally. I tried watching videos using the media player in my laptop and they play perfectly. This really only seems to happen when watching videos on a web browser.

Yesterday I was watching a movie and I watched videos on youtube without any problem. I only noticed the problem happening about an hour ago but it's possible that I had it earlier this day without noticing. I did do a windows update last night so maybe that could be the cause of the problem?

Here is the link to a video I recorded to show you the problem that I'm having : https://youtu.be/stZ56TzYNvc

So does anyone know how to fix this problem? Your help would be greatly appreciated and thank you in advance

  2. Watching Videos through the Browser in Windows 10

    Hi Floyd,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

As you have issues watching videos in different browsers, this maybe an issues with the graphics driver not loaded properly.

    • What is the Make and Model of the computer?
    • What is the exact error displayed on Browser?
Provide us the Event viewer logs by trying these steps:

    1. Press Win + X key on the keyboard and choose
    Event Viewer.

    2. Check theApplication logs and provide us the events that occur when you try to play a Video on the Browser.

    Thank you.

    Problem watching videos

    Hi Ara,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community forum.

To have a better clarity on the issue, respond to the questions listed below:

    • Were any changes made on the computer prior to this issue?
    • Does the issue persist on all sites?
    • Do the downloaded videos play fine?

Meanwhile you may try the steps listed below and check if it works:

    • Right click on the video you’re watching.
    • Click on ‘Settings’.
    • On the first tab, make sure ‘Enable hardware acceleration’ box is unchecked.

    Regards,

  4. I keep getting this problem when trying to watch videos on a browser on my laptop while...

Whenever I watch a video the screen gets brighter when the cursor disappears

First: we need to ensure the following two points:

    1. Download and install the latest graphics driver according to the graphics card or motherboard.
    2. Download and install the latest power management drivers according to the model of the machine.

Second: Do we use a video player to play video or use a browser to play video?

If we use a video player, we can use other video players, and then check if there is such a issue when playing, if not, it may be the setting issue of this video player. Check if there is a setting like "adaptive brightness" in this video player so that we can adjust the video brightness.

If we use a browser to watch videos, try another browser and see if other browsers have the same issue when playing videos. If only a browser has such a issue, we check the browser settings.

Third: If we use all the video players and browsers to watch the video, this issue may be an operating system problem.

We can refer to the articles: Windows 10 laptop keeps adapting brightness (“Adaptive Brightness” is disabled)
