  1. Difficulty logging in my User Account after updating

So recently, i decided to manually update my Windows 10 because i found out that i have been missing some updates(Windows didnt autoupdate nor inform). I used the Windows 10 Update Assistant to help me out and i let it do its thing.

Now after having downloaded and installed the update, my laptop would ask me to sign in to my Microsoft account then immediately prompt me to add a PIN to my account, which has failed on every occasion. It then allows me to skip that step and brings me back to the login screen where inputting my password would just cause the “Welcome” message to loop infinitely.

The only way i have been able to get into my laptop is through Facial Recognition by McAfee True Key. Has anyone else experienced this? If so, any help would be appreciated.

  2. Windows 10 user account immediately logs out

    Hi Edward,

    • Have you tried the steps provided above?
    • If you have tried the steps provided above, is issue still persisting?
    • What was the result of SFC scan? Did it find corruption or not?

Try to create new user profile as an administrator and see if issue persists in new user profile. For creating new user profile you may refer to the steps provided below.

    • Press Windows key + R

    • Type control userpasswords2 and click OK

    • Click on add under users tab

    • Click the option, "Sign-in without a Microsoft account

    • Click on Local account

    • Choose a name for the account

    • Add password if you want to

    • Apply and click OK.

    Remove account

I suggest you backup your personalized files first before removing the account.
To delete an account, follow these steps:
    1. Press WIN + X keys and click Command Prompt (Admin) from the menu.
    2. Type the following command and press Enter. Replace test with the name of your sister's account. Code:

Difficulty logging in my User Account after updating

Settings can't be opened using the built-in administrator account

    Hello,
Unfortunately I have the same issue as Dabz from upgrading win7 to win10.
I've tried opening settings using all the suggested methods and it will not load using my account with Administrator access nor the built-in Administrator profile. I also tried other methods not listed such as using Run. Control panel is just a stepping stone to add users in Settings.
I'm also having explorer.exe issues, which I believe is preventing Settings from loading.
Using cmd (Admin) I successfully created a new user profile [and granted admin access also using cmd (Admin)], however win10 will not allow this account to log on. win10 does not list this new user within control panel but it does in the start menu. win10 will not allow to log in or switch to the new account via the start menu either.
I can access settings in Safe Mode but this will not allow me to create a new account.
Any help/suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
    Cheers
