  1. The parent controls won't allow me to access my children's profiles in family

Unable to set much-needed parental controls. Unclear why system won't let me click on children's profiles to set the limits. Any ideas? I've followed every guide. I need to set it so that they can't game during distance learning but have time after "school." I'm surprised it hasn't been made simpler to accomplish.

    :)

    Parental controls

    Hi Freddie,

The My Family (Parental Controls) feature allows parents to restrict the access of content for your child's Windows Phone. To set up a Family account on your phone, we suggest that you visit this article:

    Control parental on pc

    Hi,

Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community.

The Microsoft’s ‘Family Safety’ or previously known as ‘Parental controls’ is one of the many benefits of having a Microsoft account. It enables the parents to manage screen time and the type of content children access. This also applies even if the
child would sign in to different computer.

You can follow this article on ‘What is Microsoft family’ to get a deeper understanding
    of this feature.

Please confirm if your account is a parent account or a child account under a parent account. I would suggest you to go through this article on how to ‘Remove
members from your Microsoft family’ and check if it works out for you.

    Hope it helps.

  4. The parent controls won't allow me to access my children's profiles in family

How to control access to websites for children accounts

Hi, I'm Israel M., I'm an independent consultant and I'm happy to help you.

To enable this desired feature, you must follow the following step by step:

    1. Create a child's account

Windows 10 has a specific feature for children. Access the computer's settings and, in the "Accounts" menu, create a new profile for a minor. You will be asked to enter or create a new email and add your address or phone number to ensure account recovery in
the future. After creating the children's account, click on “Manage family settings online”.

    2. Enable the activity report

The activity report is a weekly summary of the actions taken by the child on the computer, informing data such as the websites and apps that they accessed. It is worth mentioning that the Edge browser private window is disabled in a child's account. See in
the step-by-step below how to enable sending the report to your email.

Step 1. Click on “Activity” on the family management home panel.

Step 2. Activate the key that says “Activity reporting system”.

    3. Block inappropriate content

Step 1. The next step is to set up site blocks, searches, apps and games. Scroll down the page and click "Activate restrictions".

    3. Block inappropriate content

Step 1. The next step is to set up site blocks, searches, apps and games. Scroll down the page and click "Activate restrictions".

Step 2. Activate the block for each type of content you want. You also need to enter your child's age for Windows to hide content from websites and programs according to their parental rating.

    4. Set your PC usage time

Step 1. Access the option "Screen time" and turn the key next to "Screen time on the computer" to activate the time control of Windows usage by the child.

Step 2. Scroll the screen to see the weekly PC usage calendar. The squares marked in blue represent times that the child is allowed to access the computer.

Step 3. Click on a day to allow more or less time for the child's account to use the computer.

    5. Control online shopping

The "Expenses" menu allows you to create a kind of prepaid account for the Windows Store. Click on "Add money" to deposit an amount to be made available to the child's account. The account user can only buy apps and games of values within the limit imposed
    by the responsible.

I hope I helped, I await your return

    Best regards,

    Israel M.
