  1. Audio output switching on its own ~ drivers issue, virus, or something else?

I happened to be in a discord call today when discussing some paperwork with another person, so I was also watching their shared screen. At the same time I was playing a game in the background because sometimes a simple game helps me focus better on monotonous discussions and work (as a background distraction). A couple times my computer seemed to lag and the audio of the game combined with the audio from my friend talking would blast through my speakers for a second and then resume to normal volume in my headset again. This happened 2 or 3 times (at random without a pattern as far as I could tell, except for the slight lag of my PC) before I decided to turn off my speakers.

I do recall this happening another time before, but I can't remember the circumstances. Just want to know if this is a drivers issue, a virus, or something else and possibly how to fix it. Let me know if possible. Thanks!
