Windows 10: Help me troublshoot Night light not starting on sunset time

Hello,

Night light never starts on sunset time - it starts either when Win time synchronizes with time servers or when signing out and log back.


I fiddled with this setting so much that I figured it had to do something with the user login.


If I sign out -> login, I have automatic Night light working. If I reset the PC and log again, NL is off.

Repeating the above steps effectively make NL switching on and off automatically.


So, can anyone with a knowledge in Windows offer me a clue what happens when I sign off and log again and make NL working andwhy the same doesn't work when I restart the PC and login?


Do certain drivers/parameters remain when simply signing off? Is there a specific program tool to check what could be the culprit here?


Knowing the difference what happens when signing off and restarting could troubleshoot this issue for good.

Night Light not turning on properly

The new night light feature isn't working properly when scheduled. When it is well passed sunset, night light will show that it is on from the button in the action center, when in reality night light is not on at all. I have it scheduled to sunset and
sunrise and my time and time zone are set correctly, and the sunset times are accurate, but for some reason night light will just not come on until i manually turn it off and then on again.

 

Night light timing problem

I have night light in windows 10 scheduled to turn on from sunset to sunrise. However, it simply isn't turning on. See attached screenshot. The clock in the bottom right clearly shows that it was 6:53pm. Next to sunrise to sunset it says that night light
should be on from 4:58pm to 7:02am. But night light had not automatically turned on (hence why the 'Turn on now' button is visible in the screenshot).

This is weird, how can I make night light automatically turn on from sunset to sunrise?

 

Windows 10 Night Light Schedule Has Wrong Sunrise-Sunset Times

I have the Night Light schedule set to Sunset to sunrise, which is currently followed by (23:00 — 12:11). The problem is that the Night Light feature isn't turning on and off at appropriate times.

The computed times are wrong for my location, as sunset today is at 20:09 (UTC-7h), and sunrise tomorrow is at 04:10. The end of astronomical twilight, at 23:25, is close to the first figure, but it starts at 00:55, which is very different from the second
figure. That figure isn't even close to civil twilight, which starts here at 03:29 tomorrow.

I will add that I keep my computer clock on UTC. It is almost as if the first figure uses local time, and the second figure uses UTC, which would be at least close to what I'd expect the times to be.
