Windows 10: WINDOWS 10 Pro upgrade purchased from Microsoft Store will not activate

Brought new Dell PC with Windows 10 Home installed 2 days ago.

I immediately purchased Windows Pro 10 upgrade through Windows Store App.

Paid for and downloaded no problem. Once done rebooted fine and joined the PC to the network domain.


Next morning I find "TEST DISPLAY" across the desktop. I check setting and see the OS is identified asWindows 10 Enterprise.

The OS is not activated with code 0xC004003.

I have tried every solution I can think of.


Microsoft is working overtime to drive me nuts. I got a confirmation email for the upgrade purchase, I got a welcome to Windows 10 email, BUT NO email with the product key.

I look in order history, show purchase is complete, but no key listed and no way to download and try reinstall again.


Microsoft support chat states I have to go toMicrosoft Store Support. Microsoft Store Support links you back to Microsoft Support Chat.

I tried having them call me, and every time the call just disconnects after 10 seconds or so.


Any one out there have any other suggestions?

From Why can't I activate Windows?

If you upgraded to Windows 10 for free and ended up in a non-activated state, try following these steps:

• Go to Start
  
  , then select Settings > Update & security > Activation.
• Select Go to Store, and check to see if a valid license is available for your device. If a license isn't available, you'll need to buy Windows from the Store.

or you could hack it with a crack but please note this is always risky and you don't know what's in the hack

 

Windows 10 Pro is not getting activated after re-install. I purchased Windows 10 Pro upgrade through Microsoft Store.

• Microsoft Tech Support Team tried the Default Pro key. It upgraded to Windows 10 Pro but didn't get activated and then they tried "Repair" and that also didn't work.
• I performed a clean install with "ei.cfg" like you suggested (mine is OEM). Still not working.

I suggest you to download and create an installation media for Windows 10 Pro form the link provided below:

Download Windows 10

After the installation media is created, suggest you to upgrade to Windows 10 Pro from the installation media. When the upgrade asks for product key, enter the product key purchased for Windows 10 Pro. If it does not accept, suggest you to skip the activation
step. After the Operating System is installed, suggest you to activate by phone by following the steps below:

• Press “Windows key + R” and type “slui 4” and press Enter.
• Select the Region from the list and click Next.
• Call the Toll-Free number provided on top and can activate via phone.
