Windows 10: How to unsync one drive from a specific folder without deleting all of its files off my...

I have my PC currently synced up with my school one drive account. I want to unsync my PCs desktop from one drive so that if I make any changes or add any files they just stay on my computer, but when i try to unsync the desktop folder it says its unable to because it contains the windows desktop folder and if i try to unsync any specifc files that are on the desktop they are just deleted off of my computer. What I want is for the only 2 folders to be syncing on one drive to be my 2 digital design folders so that i can easily access my digital design assignments from home, is this possible?

Trouble deleting a folder

Thanks for the suggestion but it says "delete folder failed for E:\....." for each folder I try.

Suggestion:

1. Run chkdsk x: /r to make sure that there's no HD corruption.
   x: is the drive containing the folder you want to delete.
2. Try to delete the folder again. If still does not work, go to step 3.
3. Download: Download - Linux Mint and create a bootable USB using: Rufus - Create bootable USB
4. Boot up with Linux Mint and try to delete the folder again.
   NOTE: Unlike WinPE. Linux does not have any Windows permission imposed to it so it is easier to delete.

Carlos: Thanks for your reply. What you suggest is what I have been doing. I search for folders with a specific name and get a list. Then I have to search each folder for a specific file. So it's a two step search and that's what I was trying to avoid.

I assume there are applications out there that allow for an "AND" search in Windows. I'll try that approach.
