Windows 10: Problem accessing Hotmail via Gmail

I have been accessing my Hotmail account via POP3 on gmail for many years

and 2 days ago it suddenly stopped working.


message

Authentication error.
Server returned error "Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password."


I have tries using POP server: pop3.live.com

and also POP server: outlook.office365.com

however the same message appears each time

Server denied POP3 access for the given username and password.
Please contact Microsoft's Support Team for more information on POP access.


I have checked in hotmail that the option to "Let devices and apps use POP" is ticked YES


I have checked and re-checked the email address and password in hotmail and they are both correct and work fine.


Please can anyone help?

Dealing with Spam

I already have a Gmail account, but Ive had my hotmail account for years and theres a lot of other accounts that are registered to that email. I guess I will try hotmail/MSN support and see what they say as no one has come up with any solutions in this thread

Please answer the query, mentioned below:

• How do you access your Email account (Web browser or Email client)?

If you are using Mail app, I would suggest you to first check, if Hotmail account is configured on Mail app?

Try these steps below to configure Hotmail account on Mail app:

• 
  Type Mail App in the search bar on the desktop and click on
  Add account in the Mail app Window.
  
• 
  Check for Hotmail account on Choose an account Window. If it is not available, go to
  Other account.
  
• 
  Add you Hotmail account Email address and
  Password in the Other account Window and check, if it works.
  

If both Hotmail and Gmail account is configured on Mail app, you can switch between Gmail and Hotmail account on Mail app. By clicking on the respective account name on bottom left.

If you do not want to use Gmail account on Mail app, you can delete the Gmail account.

Try these steps below to delete the Gmail account on Mail app:

• 
  Type Mail App in the search bar on the desktop and click on
  Add account in the Mail app Window.
  
• 
  Check for Gmail account on Choose an account
  Window, then delete the Gmail account.
  

If you are using a web browser, I would suggest you to go to
https://www.mail.live.com and sign in using your Hotmail.com Email address.

Windows phone 7 hotmail To: selection showing already deleted gmail addresses.

Successfully synched gmail in Windows phone 7. Later contacts in gmail updated using browser on desktop.



Now when I draft a new email using hotmail on windows phone 7, the suggestion list displayed by the phone shows already deleted gmail addresses.

This is annoying...
