  1. Mail app signs my name on outgoing messages from any account

    Hello!

I've been using the Windows 10 Mail app and, for the most part, it works fine. I recently discovered that several of my emails I've sent from the app never actually sent (not in outbox, sent, or spam) and can only be found via search. A quick search on this sub revealed that I'm not the only victim of that occurrence, but I couldn't find a solution other than sending mail from the base email provider (Gmail, Outlook, etc). but I digress...

I manage several email addresses (personal, school, work, organizations) and I need a place to consolidate them all. I've tried several services (Thunderbird, Gmail, clubname@gmail.com](mailto:clubname@gmail.com)), the app signs my personal name as the sender, even tho the address is correct ("John Smith" <[clubname@gmail.com](mailto:clubname@gmail.com)> instead of "Club Name" <[clubname@gmail.com](mailto:clubname@gmail.com)>). To check, whenever I send an email from Gmail itself, it signs it correctly ("Club Name" <[clubname@gmail.com](mailto:clubname@gmail.com)>). After checking, it signs the same name (my personal one) on every email I send, regardless of which address I'm sending it from.

    Any solutions? Thanks.

  2. While sending mail, does not show my name, instead shows my email address

I would suggest you to follow the steps to change the Account display in Mail app:

    1. Open Mail app

    2. Select “settings”.

    3. Under settings select “Manage Account”.

    4. Click on the Account name

    5. Change the Account name

If still not working, try the steps below:

    • In the Mail app, open Settings (the gear icon).
    • Click 'Manage Accounts'
    • Select the account you want to change the outgoing display name for
    • Click 'options for syncing email, contacts, and calendar'
    • in the account sync settings, there should be a 'Your name' text field that is used as the display name for outgoing emails.

Mail app only working when signed in under Admin account

Upgraded from Windows 7 about two months ago, but this just started a few days ago.
Tried to read my email and found that I could not use the mail app when signed in under my User account. (previously worked fine.)
If I sign in under my Admin account, the mail app works normally.
I've tried deleting and reinstalling the mail/calendar app, and now I don't even have the icons to launch them- not even listed on the start menu, except when using the Admin account.
Is there another way to launch or repair the app?
    Any suggested fixes?
Don't want to keep having to sign in as Admin just to read my email.
    Thanks!

  4. Mail app signs my name on outgoing messages from any account

Windows 10 Mail app - don't show account name on left

Hello, I'm setting up a new W10 laptop for my mum.

In the standard Mail app I've linked her IMAP account successfully.

The name of the account (with unread messages count) shows on the left pane, above the list of folders.

Is it possible to hide the account name from the left pane? She only has one account and keeps clicking the account name instead of the inbox.

    Thanks!
