I am forced to change the motherboard and the hard-disk on my laptop which had Windows 10 Home pre-installed. I don't have any backup created for my Windows. So, I wanted to know how could I reinstall the genuine version of Windows on my laptop.

I have read in some answers that after downloading the Windows ISO files and performing installation, Windows gets automatically activated as the device info is stored on microsoft activation servers, but I am afraid if the motherboard change will cause any problem as the motherboard number gets changed.

Please help me out. I will be really grateful.

    :)

Change motherboards without reinstalling Windows 7!

it is quite possible. i've done it dozens of times.

I dont really recommend it however, better to have a fresh install of windows so you dont get all sorts of leftover junk (old drivers etc)

    Reinstall Windows?

You don't need to reinstall windows. Go to the device manager and remove uninstall the processor and motherboard drivers listed. When you start the system back up you should be able to re-install the new ones. I just changed my mobo/processor Friday, everything is fine.

BTW I have seen some reviews that state practically no difference in using more than 2gb of ram.

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
