Windows 10: Mail not syncing sent mail with exchange server email address

Hello


I have two email accounts set up for work purposes only. One is IMAP, the other one Exchange. The IMAP is syncing no problem. The Exchange email has stopped syncing my older SENT emails. Settings are correct and option to sync mail from any time is checked. This has only stopped working within the past month. Thank you!

Outlook 2016 - Exchange Server and POP3 email accounts


I use Outlook 2016 for all my email requirements.

One BTinternet.com email address
One Outlook.com email address

Previously had above two email accounts sending and receiving from the same PST file each using POP3.

Wanted to change the Outlook.com to IMAP with my understanding being that this would then sync both ways with the web-mail for Outlook.com.

Deleted the old POP3 account settings for the Outlook.com email address and then went through the process of setting up again using the automatic configuration rather than the "manually configure" thinking this would automatically use IMAP. (Left settings unchanged for the POP3 BTinternet.com email address).

To my surprise the Outlook.com email address was not setup as an IMAP but as an Exchange Server.

Initially thought this would be ok as this would also sync both ways with web-mail. Soon discovered however that any email coming in to my still remaining BTinternet POP3 email address was also arriving into the Outlook.com Inbox.

Why is this happening and what do I have to do to still keep the POP3 email separate from the Exchange Server email each using their own Inbox? (Both Inbox's are listed in the left hand panel of Outlook 2016).

Any help much appreciated.

 

understanding mail servers

ive been working on a mail server for my linux box. i do not want to use my ISPs mail server to send and receive mail. my isp does allow me to have smtp,pop and imap ports open. i have no issue setting up postfix and smtpd authentication, however, i feel i dont know enough about how email works to get it working properly.

first, i have sent emails and received emails. receiving always works, but sending is sporadic. i am told that is because of all the checks mail servers like yahoo and msn have to filter out spam. what do i need to know about global mail networks to get my system up and running flawlessly?

 

How to create email signature when using Mail For Exchange and sent mail stored on the server.

Just got my N900 and pretty happy so far.2 questions:



1. I use Mail For Exchange a lot and have not figured out how to create an email signature in Mail For Exchange. Signatures for POP and IMAP is no problem.



2. As I have understood, the sent mail is saved on the device, not the server. On my Nokia E72 all sent mail was copied to the server. Can this be done on N900 too?
