    Dear All

I would like some help with a serious issue that has started approximately a fortnight ago with my Windows 10 system. I have a Dell Alienware R15 laptop and a Logitech MX Master 2S mouse. Whenever the mouse or the touchpad are activated the computer will instantly behave completely erratically. The right click menu will open, text will be selected, dialog boxes appear, the mouse will freeze, the screens will 'show all' etc. I currently have the touchpad deactivated and using an old Dell wired mouse and the system is completely stable. The problems will occur no matter if it is the touchpad active with the mouse deactivated or the mouse active with the touchpad deactivated. I have also paired the Logitech mouse with my desktop and exactly the same erratic behaviour instantly occurs and is stopped by removing the device. Steps I have taken include:

    • Update the machine
    • Extended virus scan of the machine
    • Uninstall/reinstall the mouse/touchpad drivers multiple times
    • Reverted back to an earlier touchpad driver
    • Run troubleshooter for the mouse
    • Checked bluetooth settings
    • Removed and reset the RAM modules
    • Ran RAM checks from the BIOS
    • Search extensively online for a solution

FYI I also have a Logitech G915 wireless keyboard which is behaving normally. I do not have a restore point to roll back to. I would be most appreciative if someone could assist me.

    Best

    Michael

    :)

  3. Windows 10 touchpad is zooming uncontrolably

    Hi,

Thank you for the update and I apologize for the delay in response.

It must be difficult when things do not work as expected.

I would suggest you to completely uninstall the touchpad driver and reinstall it.

    Follow these steps.

    • Press “Windows key + X” and click on “Device Manager”.

    • In the list of devices, you should see the touchpad drivers.

    • Right click on the device and then select "Uninstall".

    • In the uninstall dialog, make sure you select the option to delete the driver package from the system. This causes the driver package installed earlier to be deleted.

    • In the Action menu of Device manager, select “Scan for Hardware changes”
option. This will cause the device driver to be reinstalled. Once the driver is installed, close all windows and restart the computer.
Hope the information helps. Let us know if you need further assistance. We will be happy to help.

    Thank you.

Touchpad and mouse corrupted causing uncontrolled operations

I want to disable touchpad on Dell laptop

    Hello everyone,
My laptop's touchpad works and I don't want it to, because I prefer a mouse. It's a Dell Inspiron 11 3000 series on windows 10 OS.

What I have tried that hasn't worked:
    • start<settings<devices<mouse & touchpad<additional mouse options. This opens a window called Mouse Options which has 5 tabs up top, none of which involve the touchpad. The Hardware tab shows 2 devices: the mouse itself, and the USB. No touchpad there.
    • windows key+x<mobility center. No touchpad to be found.
    • various function keys. No options for touchpad on/off.
    • device manager<mice and other pointing devices. Again, only the mouse and usb show up. It appears the touchpad is working without a driver, which is a little spooky.
Any other suggestions? I could try downloading a third party driver, but that seems like a step in the wrong direction.
    Thanks
