Blue screens, "hard drive not installed", apps not opening

    Hi,

I have a Dell Inspiron from 2018 with an SSD and Windows 10 version 1909. Ever since my laptop crashed during a Zoom call on Thursday, I have been getting blue screens with stop codes Bad System Config Info, Unexpected Store Exception, Kernel Data Inpage Error, and Critical Process Died. About 1-4 times a day, most of the time while doing something slightly demanding like opening multiple apps at once or during automatic repair upon restart. They are then followed by a restart and Dell's SupportAssist shows a screen saying "hard drive not installed". Once, it showed "hardware scan complete with no issues. No bootable devices found!" On Thursday, it would then go into an automatic repair/restart loop I could only get out of by skipping disk check. Since Friday though, it has restarted normally most of the time following the SupportAssist screen or following the "automatic repair could not fix your PC" screen.

On January 4th it would not start up properly following an update, and during the process of trying to get out of that, I uninstalled latest updates and ran some stuff in command prompt, what worked that day was chkdsk. However since then a couple apps would not open Windows Store, Amazon Music, and in the last few days, more and more apps won't open Windows Mail, Inkscape, Microsoft Office, RStudio, etc, often saying that it's not designed to run on Windows or contains an error. Repair or reinstalling has worked for some apps. A couple work normally but still have a "bad image" pop-up when I open them.

I've tried installing Windows Updates multiple times but they always fail to install. Other things I have tried check or x indicating whether the process completed successfully:

    System restore not successful
    Malwarebytes
    Sfc/scannow could not perform
Sfc/scannow in safe mode could not perform
Wmic diskdrive get status status OK
Reset - keep files there was a problem resetting your pc
    Cd %windir%\system32\config no path found
    Wsreset.exe app didn't start
Troubleshooting: windows store apps hanging or crashing apps fixed
Dism /online /clean-up /restorehealth system cannot find the file specified
Windows update troubleshooter check for windows update issues: detected
Windows Memory Diagnostic no memory errors were detected
Scan drive with Windows error checking Windows found errors on this drive that need to be repaired
Open up, disconnect and reconnect hard drive
    Reinstall disk driver
Chkdsk crash during reboot, no results found in system viewer

Do I need a new hard drive, or is this an error in Windows, or something else? I don't mind buying a new hard drive but I am worried about thatnot fixing the problem.

    :)

    W7 Hard drive partition issue

to get rid of that 100 meg windows partition that setup creates for you on a new install on a blank hdd:

    - press shift+f10 when on the partition management screen in setup <-- this opens a command prompt
    - diskpart <-- start the windows command line partition management tool
    - list disk <--- list the installed hdds in this computer for the next step
    - select disk 0 <- might have to replace 0 with the number of the correct disk
    - clean <-- this will erase all data on the disk you selected one step up- dont use the wrong disk!
    - create partition primary <- creates a primary partition taking up all space on the drive, adjust the command if necessary
    - exit, exit to exit diskpart and the command prompt
    - click refresh in partition manager and select your newly created partition and install to that
