Windows 10: Problem with Phone app and windows notifications

Hi I hope someone can help me with this I have been fighting this phone for months, but I have come to realize it may be a combination of issues.


I have a Samsung problem one, probably the biggest, if anyone has ever tried to call samsung support they will no why they do not know their own products well. usually I fix my own tech support with samsung while there on the line. For instance I had an issue with the Phone not restoring samsung cloud because it falsely detected I had a hot spot connection. She wanted me to use wipe cache partition uhh. maybe this would work for something major, but I felt reset network setting would do the trick and it did. Samsung support is nightmarish, and frankly so is Windows with the exception of this Community who mainly independents help way more.

My current issue is and this happened very recently. I started having trouble getting ANY banner and notification directly from google. It took several hours of manipulating to get GMAIL and Messages to Banner in notifications. I have previewed ad nauseum every single parse of data relating to this issue. But can find nothing to help me thus far. And I was hoping someone around here would have some same issues.



for instance I like to get banners for sports, calendar, and weather via google via Phone app. I was getting them but now I am not for about 6 weeks.


I have since again run a dism repair health, and a file system integrity command, I have again restored my phone ONLY backing up contacts, data, messages, photos and audio and left apps, settings, homescreen alone. so I could have a fresh start.


As far as my settings go I am fairly certain they are set right I will show previews. like I said I have researched every known article I can find regarding this and they are not helping this. I want my Google account to sync so I have the aforementioned banners show up in action center. It is Possible because as of 6 weeks ago I was getting so many I had to turn some off, I now have notifications for everything turned on for my phone and I am still only getting SMS/MMS and mail and calls but that is it.


Please look at these screen shots and please see if I need to do further stuff.

link to windows, phone companion are updated fully on my phone there are no windows updates and phone companion is fully updated from microsoft store. I think this might be related to google assistant but even all of those notifications on the phone are ON.

PS now that I am looking there is a toggle for to options to open notifications, one is The Mobile App, and a drop down selects "your phone" I do not know if this is going to make any difference but I am going to try this setting, in the meantime please feel free. This is always a problem when three tech companies software are all necessary to get the full feature experience for one piece of hardware. In this case

samsung, Microsoft and Google have their paws all over this phone and they all provide software. It seems to not be very well structured.

Yeah, thats not a solution she is interested in......I've suggested that course of action. Thanks though.

Just to clarify, I feel that there MUST be a step, or series of steps to turn off JUST the wireless notification sound. Thats what Im driving @ here.

Welcome to the club! Having used an iPhone 3G/4/4S and a Nexus S in the past I too miss a lot of features present on both of those platforms but missing on Windows Phone. Ya at the price you definitely can't complain too much.
