Windows 10: TurboTax won't load, on Windows 10.

TurboTax won't load with no error message for Intuit to resolve issue, Intuit reports my problem "is local". How do I proceed to fix problem? Windows 10 Pro.

Turbotax Premier 2019 Will Not Load

I have Windows 8.1 on my Dell XPS 2720 computer. I used a CD to load Turbotax Premier 2019, and it appeared to load correctly. However, when I click on the desktop icon to activate the program, nothing happens. I have successfully used Turbotax in past
years on the same computer without any problems. Any suggestions?

Run Disk cleanup, when it reports results choose the button for System Files, let it scan again and clean up what it finds:

Try creating a new Admin User account to see if it installs, following Step 16 in this checklist:

If not then complete the other steps in the checklist, especially Step 4 to turn off Startup freeloaders than can conflict and cause issues, Step 7 to check for and remove infection, then Step 10 to fix any broken System Files.

You can also try installing in Compatibility Mode: Right click the installer's .exe before installing, and then the program .exe once installed, choose Troubleshoot Compatibility, follow the prompts to test a different Windows Mode and then set the app to install
or always run in that mode.

Unable to load Turbotax on newly installed Windows 10

Have you checked the TurboTax site to make sure that version you have on the CD is compatible with Windows 10? It will be listed there. They will also have info if any other TurboTax customer has ever encountered the same issue.

Another thing you can try out: open File Explorer, go to the "This PC" section. Find your CD drive icon (it may have a TurboTax logo on it while the CD is in) and right-click and choose "Open" (so that it doesn't try to run the setup program yet). Find
the actual setup file icon, right-click, and choose "Troubleshoot compatibility" from the menu.
