Windows 10: HDD Disappeared on install

Hi, sorry if this is the wrong place to post this, I've also asked in r/linux I was recently reinstalling windows for someone because it was running slow and on the installer no disks are available to install onto. It says "We couldn't find any device. To get a storage device load driver" Before this I tried to install linux on it so that the computer could be used whilst I downloaded and made a windows usb (on my connection the download takes a very long time) I left the computer to install and when I got back it had rebooted and said something about a boot error, I assumed it hadn't installed properly so tried to install linux again, the disk was still missing. By this point my windows disk was ready and I had the same problem I mentioned at the beginning. I've tried looking in the UEFI settings but there's no storage options, maybe has something to do with the laptop model (HP pavillion I think) Any help would be appreciated.

  turn on

  Reconnect
  your
  HDD
  and
  restart
  your
  PC.
