    Epson V200 Scanner won't work after Windows 10 upgrade


    I have recently upgraded to Windows10 necessary to upgrade Office over that other problem. Now my Epson V200 scanner does not work correctly.

    I can get a preview scan. However, when I try to set the dialog for the real scan, the input fails.


    I have uninstalled the driver and reinstalled the correct driver from Epson. This did NOT fix the problem. Devices states that scanner is working properly and shows it under optical devices, and Driver Update says that it is the latest.


    Some one suggested that I uninstall the scanner and the driver. I am concerned that if I uninstall the scanner, I will lose it. I have no software disc. On the other hand, the scanner was not connected until after the Windows10 upgrade. So won't plug and play automatically "install" my scanner as it did before?

    Epson scanners & Windows 10--found a solution

    Both my Epson scanners (GT-S50 and Perfection V200) quit working when I upgraded from Windows 8.1 to 10. I was hassling with the page scanner (GT-S50) and Epson Scan wouldn't load, even after I uninstalled and re-installed the supposedly Win 10-compatible
    driver several times.

    Finally I uninstalled the flatbed (V200) and installed the driver for that model that claimed to work with Win 10. Walaa, both scanners now work. The file is epson13568, and the version is Epson Scan 3.24A .

    Epson 1200 scanner now working! Very pleased.


    Worked perfectly,
    • Installed 2400 series driver (when it asked what model I had I also picked, 1270 and 4180 since these had the Slide scanner interface I thought it might add a few extra drivers)
    • Restarted PC
    • Needed to use Device manager 'Updated driver'
    • Assign 2400 driver. (See attached image)
    • Be sure scanner is powered on so it appears in device manager.

    Tested the Slide scanner attachment, I used PRO mode and it was discovered.
    I had to use the plastic blackout slide holder (for masking the slide) to find the slide though.

    My Epson scanner will not work on my Windows 10 upgrade. I have reloaded the driver and devices from the Epson website, but it will not confirm. It's listed on downloads. Cannot get it to open and work.
