  1. PC freezing on idle or very low system use infrequently

Hi, so recently I got a new graphics card and I put it into my pc with no problems at first. It has been pretty good in games, but the problem that I have been having is that my pc randomly freezes and it's not even while gaming, but when I'm away from my computer or just doing not demanding tasks like going through discord. When it freezes, I can still use my mouse and keyboard, but the things that I have open freeze and no apps open, but file explorer does somehow. Is there any particular reason why it would be freezing like this where I can use my mouse and keyboard but not open apps like cmd Windows gives an error code when I try doing it that means couldn't open and have everything frozen? It all gets solved with a reboot, but it happens every week or so, causing saved work to be lost.

    :)

Windows 10 freezing during low CPU loads

    Hello,

I've had a freezing problem ever since I built
    this computer
several months ago. The freezes only occur during low cpu usage, such as sitting idle or browsing the web. They do not occur at regular intervals — I've had freezes after letting the mouse sit for a second, and no freezes even after leaving
the computer idle for several hours.

Things I've tried to resolve this:

I've checked the Event Viewer for more details but I'm not sure what to look for. Any advice on how to proceed is greatly appreciated.

    Thank you for your time.

    Bluetooth still on while idle

Thanks for following the steps. Now, the settings won't take effect if you are only using normal PC idle mode. Normal functionality of Bluetooth and Wi-Fi settings are to stay connected even if PC is idle. With the settings that you have created, we would
suggest that you set your PC to automatically go to Sleep or
    Hibernate
once idle. In this way, the settings "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" should take effect.

To set your PC to automatically go to Sleep or Hibernate when idle, please follow these steps:

    • Open Control Panel, set view by: Small
      icons.
    • Look for Power Options.
    • Click on Change when the computer sleeps on the left pane.
    • Set a timer.

Please try it out. Hope it helps. If you have any other concerns, don't hesitate to come back to us.

    System idle process spike

Although you may have a problem that is causing fps drops, "System Idle Process" isn't what's causing it.

When "CPU usage" for System Idle Process is high, that means that your CPU is not doing much useful work.

    Idle, noun:

    • not working or active; unemployed; doing nothing: idle workers.
    • not spent or filled with activity: idle hours.
When System Idle Process shows as 30%, what's taking up the majority of the rest of the CPU cycles? That's probably the source of the problem.
