Windows 10: Can't preview Illustrator files after downloading Raw Image Extension

I couldn't preview the raw files from my new Sony A7III, so I found an answer that told me to download Raw Image Extension from the Window Store. After downloading it, I can now view my raw photos, but now I can't preview my Illustrator files. I tried launching it from the store to see if I needed to change settings, but I didn't see anything. I tried changing the settings of Acrobat DC, but that didn't help either.

Why is it so easy for Apple products to preview all the file types, but Windows makes it a process of downloading and searching for help?

You may install the Raw Image Extension on your laptop to read raw files from your Canon 5D.

The Raw Image Extension gives Windows 10 native support for previewing raw file formats from 'many mid- to high-end digital cameras,' according to Microsoft. Once installed, both Windows File Explorer and the Photos app in Windows 10 will support displaying
thumbnails and metadata for these raw image files.

The extension is only supported on systems that have installed the Windows 10 May 2019 Update version 1903.

Raw Image Extension

Thanks for your interest in the Raw Image Extension. You can acquire the extension to install on your devices but Windows 10 May 2019 Update (version number 1903) is required to install the extension. The Raw Image Extension adds native viewing support for
images captured in raw file formats produced by many mid- to high-end digital cameras. By installing the package, you will be able to view thumbnails and metadata of supported raw file formats right in Windows File Explorer or view images in the Photos app.
The current version of the extension supports a long list of cameras, however some Raw formats like .CR3 and .GPR are not currently supported. This package is made possible thanks to libraw open source project (LibRaw | raw image decoder). Check out LibRaw 0.20 supported cameras | LibRaw
for a list of supported cameras. Libraw library is licensed under COMMON DEVELOPMENT AND DISTRIBUTION LICENSE Version 1.0 (CDDL-1.0) PLEASE NOTE – the Raw codec delivered by this extension requires changes to Windows to run. Windows 10 May 2019 Update (version
number 1903) or later is required. If you can’t install the extension, your device is running a version of Windows that does not meet the minimum Windows build number required to run the extension. Please consider upgrading your device to the latest version
of Windows to install the extension. PLEASE NOTE – the extension is NOT an app – you can’t interact directly with it. It installs an OS codec plugin used by Windows apps including File Explorer and Photos to decode raw images. Please use File Explorer to view
thumbnails or Photos app to view your raw images from supported cameras after installing the extension.

I would like to let you know that Microsoft is working hard to release a new store-delivered raw codec package that dramatically improves native raw file format support in Windows.

Announcing Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 18323

By downloading the new Raw Image Extension (Beta) package from the store, you can now view image thumbnails, previews, and camera metadata of previously unsupported raw files right in File Explorer. You can also view your raw images at full resolution
in apps such as Photos or any other Windows app that uses Windows Imaging Component framework to decode raw images.
