    My kids are both using Microsoft Edge as their browser under Family Controls.


    When their allocated time is up, the browser continues to play video and audio. So if they are on YouTube, the browser still allows YouTube to "spin" through its playlist, allowing the audio through even though the screen shows the "Time is up" message. If they are using Google Hangouts, they can still have an entire conversation.


    Is there a way to disable this?

    It would be grateful if you can reply to this question in order to assist you further:

    • Are you able to play videos and audios using Windows Media player or other application with in your system?
    • Which browser are you using?
    • Does this issue occurs using different browser?
    I suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps:

    Step 1: Follow the steps to run the troubleshooter:

    1. Press Windows key on your keyboard

    2. Type Troubleshooting and click Troubleshooting..

    3. Click on view all (on the left panel)

    4. Select Playing Audio troubleshooter

    5. Follow the prompted steps to troubleshoot this issue.

    6. Follow the same steps to troubleshoot
    Video playback.

    Step 2: Also try to update drivers and check.

  3. No sound while playing audio and video files.

    Hi,

    I appreciate if you could answer to a few questions to narrow down to the issue.

    • Which is the application that you are using to play the files?
    • Did you try the same on a different player?
    • Did you perform any troubleshooting steps?
    As an initial troubleshooting step, I suggest you to check if the volume is set low or in mute state in Volume Mixer.

    • Right click on sound icon.
    • Open Volume Mixer check for the application that you are playing the files with and increase the volume and check.
    If the issue still persists, I would suggest you to run “Playing audio” troubleshooter to diagnose and fix the issue.

    Follow these Steps to run Playing Audio Troubleshooter in Windows 10.

    1. Type troubleshooting in the search bar.

    2. Select Troubleshooting.

    3. Select View all on the top left corner.

    4. Click on Playing audio.

    Audio and video skipping with Windows 10/Edge

    I tried that and it made no difference. All my drivers have been updated and I'm running Microsoft Edge. Videos continue to be choppy, pixilated, stop, backup, etc.
