Windows 10: Main Task Bar/Search Bar Appears On Secondary Monitor On Boot Up

Just as the title says, when I boot up my computer, somehow my computer confuses my secondary monitor for my main monitor, putting the search bar and other main task bar controls (volume, network, etc.) on my secondary monitor. However, when I check my display settings, my main monitor is still checked off as my main monitor. I will add that this does not happen every single time I boot up my computer, but about 90% of the time. What I have been doing to switch it back is I would go into display settings, make my secondary monitory my main monitor, then switch it back to my main monitor. However, 9/10 times on the next bootup, I will run into the same issue. Something worth noting is that I just got a new monitor (switched from 60hz to 144hz if that means anything) for Christmas and these issues only started once I started using it. It's not a huge problem but it is definitely very annoying. If anyone knows of any fixes I would really appreciate it!

Search icon does not appear on the task bar

I have a laptop and a recently I bought a desktop Pc running windows 10 home edition. The search icon (next to the windows symbol) does not appear on the task bar on the Pc. It does show on the laptop however. Why is it that? I click on the task bar
with the right button of the mouse and a list appears containing the “search” link on the laptop but that does not appear on the Pc. Also the “cascade windows”, “Show windows stacked” and “show windows side by side” appear grey that is inactive. Both laptop
and Pc run windows 10 Home edition. Could it be something wrong with the installation? I bought the Pc (a Dell inspiron) recently and today I installed the software. But why is it that the search icon does not show on the task bar and actually it is missing
from the list that appears when I click on the task bar with the right button of the mouse? Any help would be welcome.

I have cortana (whatever that is) in my list of apps but how do I get it to the task bar to make this work?

1. Right on the task bar and select
Cortana.

2. Click on Show search bar.

Check if this helps.

If you are on tablet mode, the search bar will not appear.

 

Problems with Windows 10 Taskbar and Secondary Monitor

On my secondary monitor, there is room for the task bar but the task bar is not displayed. (The task bar is displayed normally on the primary monitor.)

Although there is no task bar on the secondary monitory, the top half of the Task View icon does appear on the secondary monitor at the location it would normally appear within the task bar.

I'm uploading a screen capture from my secondary monitor. This is the very bottom left corner of the screen.



Is anyone else seeing this issue? My computer is a newer Dell XPS 8700 with 32GB RAM.
