Bluetooth Audio Devices Disconnect When Playing Audio

    Issue Description:

After pairing my audio device it shows as connected in the Bluetooth settings. When I tab out of settings and play audio, the Bluetooth device disconnects neither bluetooth nor the audio device is turned off, the device just disconnects. Sometimes the device disconnects instantly and other times it will play audio out of the Bluetooth audio device for up to about 30s and then disconnect. If I do not play audio, the device will show as connected in settings as normal.

    System Info/ Notes:

I have a PC that has onboard Bluetooth and I have purchased a Bluetooth adapter/dongle TP Link UB4A as the signal from the motherboard wasn't very good. I disabled the built-in IntelR Wireless BluetoothR driver in device manager then plugged in the dongle which installed its drivers. I then paired my audio device and experience the issue as described.

    Troubleshooting I have tried:

    • Pairing a different audio device same issue
    • Testing the Bluetooth dongle in a different PC This PC does not have onboard Bluetooth and the Bluetooth dongle works with no issues
    • Restarting and changing Bluetooth Support Service properties to startup type automatic from manual no change
    • Restarting my PC multiple times no change - especially after changes
    • Removing the audio device from Bluetooth devices and repairing no change
    • Removing the dongle and uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers no change

    :)

Option to play audio from Bluetooth device is missing from Settings

I want to stream audio via Bluetooth from my Android phone to my laptop running Windows 10 version 1703, but the option to play audio from phone via Bluetooth is not showing up on Settings>Bluetooth and Other Devices. Obviously, I have already paired my Android device with my laptop, and my device is visible on Other Devices, and listed as "Paired". I have also already checked my device properties on Devices and Printers, and on Service tab, "Advanced Audio" (A2DP profile) box is checked. Both my laptop and Android phone have Bluetooth 4.0 support, with my laptop also supporting HS extension, and my phone, LE (Low Energy).

I have no clue why Bluetooth audio playback isn't showing. How would I make Windows play audio via Bluetooth from my device? Thanks in advance.

    Audio on connected Bluetooth devices

I'm having a weird problem that I can't figure out and it's driving me nuts.

All that I'm attempting to do is to listen to the podcasts that I have on my Android smart phone through the speakers on my computer via Bluetooth. This worked in Win 8, but since upgrading to 10 I'm encountering a problem.

The computer will pair with the phone with no issues. It will also connect with the device via Bluetooth, no issues there either. But I can't make it pull the audio from the phone. When connected, the audio still plays through the phone, and not the computer.

I've poked around audio settings, and can't find anything. I installed drivers specific to the phone, that did not work. I also went to Dell's site and installed Bluetooth drivers that are specific to my computer. No change.

    Any suggestions?

Fail to play test tone on any audio device.

My computer is a windows 10 alienware laptop that has failed to play a test tone with my speakers, tv or bluetooth headphones. I believe my bluetooth headphones were connected when I walked out of range and disconnected which started the issue. I have tried
the following things to try and fix it.

Disabling and enabling the audio speakers

    • Updating the drivers
    • Uninstalling the drivers and restarting so that it automatically puts in the audio driver
    • Restarting the Windows Audio Services

sfc scannow to repair corrupted files

Change the sample rate of the audio

      Disable audio enhancements
    • Enable applications to take exclusive control of the device.
    • Disable applications to take exclusive control of the device.
    • I checked and no updates have been installed since it was working.

      Install High Definition Audio Device
    • Run the troubleshooter
    • Set audio speakers as the Default
    • Try other speaker options such as BT headphones and a TV through HDMI
    • Change local and user group settings
Any help and suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
