  1. File Explorer won't let me open, move, delete, rename, etc any of my files

File Explorer won't let me open, move, rename, or delete my files. It just freezes and says "Not Responding" so I have to exit out of File Explorer. If I need to open a word document I have to open Word and find the file that way.

I feel as though this didn't start happening until the latest windows update but I could be wrong.

I have tried everything including a clean boot, restarting File Explorer, Restoring File Explorer to default settings, running a system file scan, etc.

    Any help would be appreciated!

    :)

    File Explorer STILL not opening

    Greetings,

File Explorer has not been opening for at least a month. I have followed Microsoft's given steps in Fix
File Explorer if it won't open or start
multiple times with no success. Has anyone found a solution?

    Thanks, Matt

Deleted (or Renamed) files remain in file explorer view

When I delete a file in File Explorer (right click - delete) the file remains in view. If I click on it it says they can't find the file, "Was it moved renamed or deleted"? I must close file explorer and re-open it to update it. The same thing happens
if a file is renamed, the old name stays in view and the file is not accessible using the old name.

It used to be that explorer updated these file changes immediately and I could stay working in file explorer without having to close and update. Is there a setting for this that I can change so the File Explorer updates immediately?

File Explorer won't let me open, move, delete, rename, etc any of my files

Can't open or rename file (name is too long) WTF?

    Solved!!!!!

    Use 7zip.

open the 7zip file manager, go to the folder of the long name file, select the file, right click on it and select "rename".
erase some of the words of the file and press enter.

    regards!!!!!
