WSL2 CLI window scroll to prompt problem while half/full snapped

I'm kind of new to WSL2, but when I have the CLI open, and the window is fullscreen or snapped to half screen, if I'm scrolled up the output (so that the prompt is below the bottom of the window), then when I hit the `up` key on the keyboard, or start typing, or right-click paste, the window doesn't scroll to the prompt to make it visible as normal, it just sort of moves the contents a little bit down... meaning I have to scroll all the way down manually to see what's in the prompt.

In any other view mode, it scrolls so the prompt is at the bottom of the view.

I can't explain this, but it's super-annoying because I prefer to have the window be fullscreen or halfscreen most of the time due to my work environment.

Is this a WSL2 thing, or a PowerShell thing, or a command window thing... or...? I'm not seeing anything in the window's settings to fix this.

:)

WSL2 for windows

I have failed into installing WSL for Windows. I have read here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/win.../install-win10 how to do it, and at step 4:

1. Download the latest package:
Note
If you're using an ARM64 machine, please download the ARM64 package instead. If you're not sure what kind of machine you have, open Command Prompt or PowerShell and enter: systeminfo | find "System Type".

2. Run the update package downloaded in the previous step. (Double-click to run - you will be prompted for elevated permissions, select ‘yes’ to approve this installation.)

I encountered:

and

What I did wrong ? I have the following W10 version:

Another question: am I in the the right forum ?

3. Scroll bars jump half a page rather than scroll

Hi,

Misconfigured mouse setting could cause issues with how the scroll feature behaves. To address this concern, we suggest adjusting the number of lines to scroll each time. Follow these steps to do so:

• Using Cortana, Type Scroll.
• From the search results, click on Change how far you scroll with the mouse wheel.

• Under Choose how many lines to scroll each time, slide the button to the left to lessen the lines per scroll.

If the same issue persists, we suggest running the automated troubleshooter for devices and hardware.
This tool can scan and repair damaged drivers of the connected peripherals on your computer. Visit this
link, click on Find and fix problems with devices and hardware and then follow the prompts
to successfully run the tool.

WSL2 CLI window scroll to prompt problem while half/full snapped

Windows 10 1709 System Restore problems...

That seems to be an attempt at Option 2 in the tutorial, which requires you to
a. Boot to a command prompt (Did you?)
b. You then seem to be mixing steps 3,4 and 5, thus your command is incorrect.

I suggest Option 1 is easier.

If you still have problems, please repost listing each specific step and saying which option from the tutorial you are using. Thanks.
