  1. USB mic no longer recognised?

I'm running Windows 10 and have been using a Blue Snowball mic on USB connection with it for at least 8 months with no issues. First time I used it I just plugged it in, it installed the drivers and has worked perfect ever since.

Used it two days ago with no issues, now all of a sudden it's no longer recognised by my laptop, it doesn't play the jingle when I plug it in the USB like it used to, though the LED does light up. I can't see it in Control Panel in my connected devices.

    I have tried:

Going into Control Panel and uninstalling all USB connections, restarting my computer so they re-install. This did nothing.

Going into Control Panel > Troubleshooting and looking for Hardware and Devices in order to troubleshoot it. This option is not in the list. Hardware and Devices is not a visible category

Moving my USB connection cable into a different slot.

Restarting my PC with the USB connected.

Restarting my PC with the USB removed then putting it in after restart.

None of this has helped. If anyone can give me any tips to get my mic back I would greatly appreciate it. I have no idea why it randomly stopped working out of nowhere despite having been faultless for nearly a year.

Thanks in advance for any help.

    :)

    USB Mic Problems.

The next step is what I suggested originally. Try it in a friend's PC or take it to Best Buy and ask them to try it one of their PC's. Have to confirm the mic is working OK.

  3. windows problems with usb mic

    Hi Dave,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I suggest you to run the Hardware Troubleshooter by following the steps provided below and check if the issue persists.

    Method 1:

    • Type “Troubleshooting” on the search bar.

    • Click on troubleshooting, then click on “Hardware and sound”.

    • Under Hardware and sound, click on “hardware and devices”.

    • A pop-up will appear, click on the “Next” button and your hardware troubleshooting will start.
Method 2: Disable and re-enable all the
Universal Serial Bus controllers (USB) controllers.

The USB controllers represent the USB ports in Device Manager.

To disable and re-enable the USB controllers, follow these steps:

    • Press Windows key + X, Click on
      Device Manager
      .

    • Expand Universal Serial Bus controllers.

    • Right-click the first USB controller under Universal Serial Bus controllers, and then click
      Uninstall to remove it.

    • Repeat the above step for each USB controller that is listed under Universal Serial Bus controllers.

    • Restart the computer. After the computer starts, Windows will automatically scan for hardware changes and reinstall all the USB controllers that you uninstalled.
    Regards.

    USB mic no longer recognised?

My TV no longer recognises my PC

Since moving to Windows 10, my Samsung TV doesn't recognise my PC. When I bought the TV it recognised my PC, then on Windows 7, immediately as one of the available sources, along with USB, HDMI etc. Now that I have changed to Windows 10, however, the TV
can't see the PC as an input, though everything else, including wifi network and internet access, works as before. I've looked in the devices list in Windows 10 settings, and the TV is listed as available.
    Any suggestions, please?
