Windows 10: Windows 10 hard crashing, no blue screen, no reboot. ESENT error 467 and warning 642.

Hello, I'm having issues with my computer crashing without a blue screen or automatic reboot, not frequently, but often. To be specific, system is locking up, no mouse movement, screen is frozen until the monitors go to sleep, no sound, and no system led activity. Event Viewer doesn't show any sort of critical error pertaining to this, it just seems that an ESENT error 467 database corruption is always present just before it happens. I don't think it's the power supply, it's happened both when idle and while browsing and there's been no noise.

I'm also getting ESENT warnings 642 fairly frequently as well.

Also Catalog Database 3352, D, 2, and 3352, D, 50.

I've looked at other people's issues with ESENT errors and it seems to be more prevalent on Windows 8.1 but for some reason on my machine, it's causing crashes. Unless it's something not even shown in event viewer, which I have no idea what that could be.

Eventlog warnings ; ESENT id=642

That's really odd. I get no ESENT errors in Home upgraded to 2004.....





...or a clean install of Pro 2004 in a VM.

 

Multiple ESENT Warnings Event ID 642 post 2004 Upgrade

I'm a consultant to several dental offices and have upgraded them to 2004 and the latest Edge. Every one is now getting a ton of the ESENT 642 errors with their main dental program crashing a couple of times a day.

It's now 10 days since 2004 updated and the Windows.old folder was automatically deleted. My ESENT 642 warnings in event viewer have STOPPED. I cannot answer as to crashing apps and slowdowns but as far as the ESENT warning goes, I think this was the solution.
