Windows 10: Game can't generate a log file?

Hello!


I play 7 days to die via steam. Its an early access game. I've copied the 7 Days To Die folder from steam and put it on another drive D: and run it from there. For sometime now the game Single Player won't generate a log file; and this happens with the 'vanilla' version via steam and the copy I put on the D: drive. I've tried swimming through the file/folder permissions but I still can't get it to write the log file.

If I run the 'dedicatedserver.bat' file - it will write the log file - but that's for the dedicated server and not single player. One thing I noticed too is that the dedicated server log file will stop after sometime which is unusual.


I talked with those at 7 Days to Die and they said that it should, then recommended that I try adding the command: "-logfile" to a shortcut for the app. So I right clicked on 7DaysToDie.exe -> Selected: "Create Shortcut" and then clicked on its properties and in the shortcut tab - under Target: I added the -logfile at the end. Still doesn't work. In the shortcut properties under the Compatibility tab I clicked on "Run this program as administrator" but nope, still doesn't work. The game has a launcher where you can put additional parameters 2nd place they said to add it and nope, still doesn't work. I tried all that with the version installed by steam and that doesn't work either.


So - I know that the game will write a log file if run from a batch file - but it will stop writing after sometime. The game can not write a log file as it is... But it used to before.

Saves log files ?

You can either read the files in Windows or my preferred method is.....

You can then run cleaner, you will see the log files listed, then if you right click you can save as a text file and then have a read. You may also get an "error reporting" log listed seperatly.

 

glory of generals game dont work on windows 10

• Do you get any error message/code?
• What do you mean by “it just to big to appear on the screan”?
• Is this issue specific only with Glory of Generals game?

I suggest you to install the Glory of Generals game in compatibility mode and check if it helps.

Follow the below steps:

1. Right-click on the setup file of the game and select Properties.

2. Select Compatibility tab.

3. Check Run this program in Compatibility mode.

4. Let the game run and then check the functionality.

Generating a .txt based file list in Windows 7

I want to be able to generate a .txt file that lists all the files and folders in a specific folder on my PC, but don't know the name of any programs that do that. Searched on google a bit and came up with this guide, but it's for XP and I can't seem to find some of the folder options to modify the .bat file. Any suggestions? Thanks

EDIT: The .bat file will do what I want if it is in the folder I want to do it in, but the option I want to add is having the right click option that it shows.
