    Laptop crashing - sleep/power issue? Please help!!


    My laptop in the last few days has started crashing when entering or coming out of sleep. Not sure about the exact details, just know that I leave it alone for an extended period of time, come back to it and it has crashed and is stuck at the bios/windows splash screen. I installed a windows update that was available yesterday I think which didn't fix the issue. I think it may be the IntelAudioService - but I tried uninstalling those devices from device manager but again issue was not resolved. I need some help.


    A picture of my reliability report is below.


    The technical details of my most recent events are:


    Windows stopped working 5:07 PM

    The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x0000014f 0x0000000000000002, 0x0000000000000002, 0xfffff800691fe620, 0xffffb302dd7e7a50. A dump was saved in: C:\WINDOWS\MEMORY.DMP. Report Id: 77167cb3-db6f-4655-8748-b4d259af281d.



    Windows was not properly shut down 5:07 PM

    The previous system shutdown at 4:30:46 PM on ‎1/‎23/‎2021 was unexpected.

    Constant Crashing & Sleep Wake Issues

    OS Name Microsoft Windows 10 Pro
    Version 10.0.18363

    First Problem: about 80% of the time, my laptop won't wake up from sleep mode via keyboard press or mouse move/click. I seem to be missing many common features in power plan too, even after fresh Windows 10 install.
    Troubleshooting Steps:

    1. Reinstalled Windows 10 (clean)
    2. Updated all drivers
    3. Replicated on multiple Windows 10 versions, updates
    4. BIOS latest version
    5. No USB devices attached, ever. Only USB-C power and bluetooth mouse
    6. Disabled "fast startup" in control panel

    Second Problem:constantly crashing, blue screen of death.

  3. sleep mode and power options not working on Windows 10

    Hi,

    Thank you for contacting Microsoft Forums.

    For issues with sleep mode and power options follow the steps provided below.

    Run the Power troubleshooter and check.

    Follow the steps to run the troubleshooter:

    • Open Control Panel.
    • Type Troubleshooting in search and click
      Troubleshooting.
    • Now type Power in the search option.
    • Click on Power troubleshooter to run.

    I would suggest you to try updating the Display driver and check if the issue persists. If you already have all the latest drivers from Windows updates, then I would suggest you to visit the computer manufacturer's website, download and install the latest
    drivers in compatibility mode and check.

    I realize the inconvenience you are facing in your laptop regarding the sleep mode while playing game. We will help you.

    To assist you better, I suggest you to answer the below questions.

    • Have you connected the external monitor to the Laptop?
    • Did you make any recent changes prior to the issue?
    • Are you facing this issue specifically when playing the specific Game?
    • Are you facing this issue after any recent updates installed?
    This issue might have caused due to the power settings for the closing of LID is set to sleep mode.

    I suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps.

    • Press Windows + X keys and select the Control Panel.
    • Select Power options by searching in search box.
    • Right side select Change Plan setting next to the power plans.
    • Select the Change advanced Power plan settings.
    • Under the list select and expand Power buttons and lid.
    • Select Turn off the display under the drop down of setting.
    • Click Apply. Ok.
    • Close the LID and Check if the issue resolves.
