Log In Takes An Extremely Long Time After Entering PIN.

    Greetings,

My laptop has started to take an abnormally long time to log in after I enter my PIN after start-up. It goes through the normal boot-up process after hitting the power button, but after I enter my PIN, it takes anywhere from 25-45 minutes for the desktop to appear and my laptop to be usable. Just a spinning circle underneath my name on the welcome screen. I thought that I might need an update, but I can't get Windows Update to show anything. Like, literally anything. I can open Windows Update from the Settings App, but nothing happens. Just endless dots scrolling across the top of an empty window. I'm using Windows 10. My OS was originally Windows 7, but I made the upgrade quite a while ago. I don't know if that makes a difference. Any thoughts or assistance would be appreciated. Thanks!

    :)

  2. Entered an Incorrect PIN too Many Times

I will try waiting several days as you did. When steps are suggested they aren't understanding that there are no choice...the screen just says you have entered the wrong pin too many times....that's all. Then restart your computer. No other choices are
    on the screen.

  3. Entered an Incorrect PIN too Many Times

    Here are your options:

    • Enter the correct PIN
    • Click "Login options" then log in with your password
    • Wait until the timeout that you see on the screen has expired
    • Log on with the spare admin account that you wisely created some time ago, same as you had a spare key cut for your house.

  4. Log In Takes An Extremely Long Time After Entering PIN.

Must enter pin twice to log in to Windows 10

I love logging in with a pin, but for the past few weeks, I've been required to enter my pin twice. The first time I log in, it seems that I'm in, but I have to log in again to get past the photo background. I know I'm getting in the first time, because
things are more "booted up" by the time I get in. Any suggestions? Thank you - Aurora Jacobsen
