Windows 10: Opening Windows 10 desktop icons fine at first, then after a while they don't load

I've got an Acer Aspire A515 laptop that recently has developed an annoying glitch.


I start it up, everything loads fine. I start using apps by clicking on icons on my desktop. Then after about 6-10 times of closing and re-opening a frequently used app like Google Chrome, when I go to open Chrome or another app, instead of launching the program, a little spinning wheel shows up and Chrome or another program doesn't load.


I've read about this online, and some people recommend going to the Task Manager and where it shows Chrome, it'll say "Suspended," and that you should just click "End Task" and try to reopen it. When I do that and try to relaunch the app from my desktop, it still hangs and never loads. My only solution is to restart my computer which is getting rather annoying.


If anyone has any suggestions, I'd greatly appreciate hearing them.

Remove Linux Desktop Icons

I am not sure whether this will work (Ubuntu does not have icons like that on the desktop by default), but I suggest opening the trash bin and sweeping the icons into the window showing the trash bin.

 

Windows 10 desktop icons not in order

In ccleaner, did you uncheck cleaning the icon cache... have not used in a while; however, I think that is what the option is called.

Now, if you are setting the icons and they move after you have set the settings and not changed them... you may have the "Random Windows 10 Icon movement problem".
Some people have this and some don't.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
