Windows 10: Win 10 slowed drastically, took forever to restart.

link to my shared event veiwer. I am at a loss on this. I did a win10 upgrade to fix any issues, and these wont resolve and my system with everything is super slow.

Let us try the following steps to disable the Windows update.

• 
  Press Windows key + R
  
• 
  Type Services.msc and press Enter.
  
• 
  Search for Windows Update service from the list.
  
• 
  Right Click on Windows Update from the list and select properties.
  
• 
  In Properties Window Select Startup type as Disabled and Stop the Service.
  

Windows 10 will not be automatically installing or downloading updates.

You may follow the same procedure and start the windows update service if you wish to update windows 10.

Win 10 1607 Restart Issue


I am having a Win 10 1607 restart issue.

In my case the PC tries to restart but the monitor screen goes black and then the monitor screen powers off.

The PC keeps running but will not restart.

I have to push the reset button to restart the PC.

Shut down works fine.

In both restart and shutdown there are no spinning dots...

Can any one help with this restart issue.

I have tried most suggestions on the interwebz:////

My next step is to go back to the previously installed version 1511 in which restart worked then do an upgrade from the 1607 ISO I downloaded.

If this fails I will bite the bullet and do a clean install but I would rather just resolve the issue if I can as I have Win 10 running just the way I like it:///

Hi, there are numerous reports of slow startup with build 2004. (I'll assume you have that for now).

About how long does a cold boot to lock screen take?

Or, as this is a new installation, you might, for now, wish to use build 1909, available via the appropriate tutorial which suggests using the Heidoc iso downloader to get the iso file. You then need to create a bootable disk (e.g. using instructions as per the tutorial to create a bootable disk to install Win 10). However end of service life is May '21.
