Windows 10: "Critical Process Died" frequently occurring on 2 month old laptop. No mem dump available.

I have a new Asus Rog Strix gaming laptop which for the first two months has been working fantastic. It runs very cool, and I never had a problem with it up until about a week ago.

It started blue screening overnight with CRITICAL_PROCES_DIED while I was sleeping. The bsod would be stuck at 0% for the memory dump. Here's the peculiar pattern I'm noticing:

It only happens when I'm NOT running a graphically intensive game. It's always happened when I'm merely browsing the web or doing something mundane like browsing files. I could be running a game for 5 hours straight with nothing going wrong. As soon as I exit the game, within 5-10 minutes it will BSOD with "Critical Process Died." This is repeatable behavior. Likewise, if I boot up the computer and do not start running a graphically intensive game within 5-10 minutes, it will BSOD. It happens whether I'm plugged in or not, or if I'm connected to an external monitor or just using it without any connections.

I have tried in vain to get this BSOD to give me a memory dump. I've tried plugging in a flash drive and getting it to save the dump there, but that also didn't work.

I've done an sfc scan, a DISM scan, memory scans, I've used the ASUS troubleshooter and diagnostic tools, I've updated a ton of drivers, made sure windows was up to date, and updated BIOS. I also tried rolling back any drivers or windows updates that were done in the last two weeks. Event Viewer doesn't show me any useful logs. All of these scans have told me my computer is in good health. One thing I did very shortly before this began was uninstalled McAfee trial (which came with ASUS and was nagging me to purchase; I prefer Windows Defender which I did a deep scan and it came up with nothing). I was thinking, perhaps, because this only occurs when the computer isn't overwhelmed it's perhaps some background process which only does stuff when the computer isn't stressed.

Intel Core i9-10980HK CPU @ 2.4 Ghz

32Gb of RAM

NVIDIA RTX 2070 Super

2TB SSD

Windows 10 Pro OEM with 20H2

I would really really like to be able to get a memory dump, since that would go a long way to help me diagnose this. Does anyone have any pointers?

Critical Process Died on windows 10 setup

Ive just opened event viewer as you suggested but I cant seem to find any error that says "critical process died"



I have attached a screenshot of the event viewer. I have scrolled to the bottom to where it first booted up.

Ive downloaded the software you sent the link for but I'm not sure how to use it as nothing shows up when I load it.

Every time i start my laptop since i installed windows 10, and is only 3 months old i get this errer message "Critical process died" and wants to restart ive also noticed my laptop is slow i was running windows 8. until a few days ago. how can i fix
