Screen resolution repeatedly defaulting to 1024x768 @ 60hz

Whenever my PC wakes from sleep mode while I have a game running, and sometimes even with no applications running my 1024x1080 144hz viewsonic monitor changes resolution. When this happens the only fix I have found is to use the joystick control on the back of my monitor and switch the input from Display Port which I'm using to DVI or HDMI, and then when no signal is detected it automatically switches back to Display Port and the resolution is corrected. I'm unable to open Display Settings when this is going on, the explorer window loads and loads until it times out and I get an error message. Sometimes the view is so distorted I cannot navigate properly and have to restart my PC.

My monitor registers as a PnP generic, drivers all up to date on my GPU and display.

Any one know what could be causing this?

    :)

Resolution is 1024x768 instead of 1336x768

The purpose of the installer is to place LG HD 16.inf and LG HD 16.icm in the right locations.

I'm not sure that I have ever seen a monitor show up as a "Generic Non-PnP Monitor". Generic PnP (plug and play), yes.

    Here are some suggestions: https://forums.tomshardware.com/thre...nitor.1935333/

It may be as simple as a bad VGA cable. Particularly if you got the same thing with two different graphics cards.

    WIndows forcing 1024x768 Screen Resolution

My laptop has a resolution of 1366 x 768, but Windows 10 is forcing a
1024x768 with no option to change. Windows sets 1024x768 as recommended and greys it, not allowing me to alter it. Can anyone help?

I have been on Windows 10 for about a week now and it is only now that this has happened.

I have an HP Compaq 615 with ATI Radeon HD 3200 Graphics, which are still not compatible with Windows 10. So, I cannot install the correct drivers to try and correct the issue. Windows defaults would have to do.

Screen Resolution is limited to 1024x768

Hi. I have a Lenovo Yoga 500-ibd14 with Intel graphics. I recently updated my Windows 10 to the Falls update. As i've researched so far, my laptop supports Full HD resolution but why is it that the setting only shows 1024x768 resolution? Any kind of help
    is appreciated. Thank you!
