  1. Microsoft Surface Pro 5 won’t complete Windows OS installation after factory reset

This is my first time posting in the community and hoping someone can help me!

my microsoft surface pro 5 was working just fine and then the next day I had an error message that said the hard drive wasnt located.

I shut it down and then when I turned it on again I wasnt able to log in with facial recognition. It was also asking me for a password when I only had a pin so something seemed odd.

I managed to sign in after resetting the details and there was just a circle of dots spinning for what seemed forever.

I forced my laptop into factory reset as i didnt mind about losing the data on it... just wanted to use my laptop! I get to the final stage of reistalling Windows OS and it just stops going further.

has anyone else had this issue?

    :)

  2. Factory Reset for Surface Pro 3

My first post, so be gentle!
Just got an oldish Surface Pro 3 and I would like to do a 'factory reset'

I'm trying to add an attachment

If I have uploaded the disk management image correctly, there seem to be more partitions than I was expecting!
Would anyone like to suggest what the previous owner(s) have done?
Also where (which partition) , and how would I go about a factory reset.

Please let me know if this post is in the wrong area and if I've broken any rules or conventions.
    Cheers

Microsoft Surface with Windows 8 Pro Gets Priced

The Asus Eee Slate EP121 Core i5 based Windows 7 tablet and Samsung Series 7 Windows 7 (Core i5) tablet series pricing were slightly more expensive then the Microsoft Surface Pro and other Windows 8 Pro tablets. So a price break is already there.

People suggesting The Microsoft Surface Pro and other Windows 8 Pro tablets should be cheaper seem to think or suggest that products like this never existed before or are unprecedented when they are in fact only the latest generation.

Or perhaps you are confusing them with cheaper less powerful ARM based tablets,…

This statement isn’t completely accurate or possibly outright wrong. You are likely confusing the Windows RT based Microsoft Surface tablet with the as of yet unreleased Surface Pro Windows 8 Pro tablet.

The average Windows 8 Pro 64bit install footprint is likely greater then 16GB. The Windows 8 Pro 32bit install footprint may fit into a 16GB envelope but I don’t think OEMs will choose to go that route. However, if the Microsoft Surface Pro is anything like the Asus Eee Slate EP121 Core i5 based tablet PC then the installed mSATA SSD is user upgradeable. I can upgrade the default OEM 64GB mSATA SSD on my Asus model to ~240GB / ~256GB or greater. I can also upgrade the Bluetooth / WiFi module to support IEEE 802.11ac,….

Microsoft Surface Pro 5 won’t complete Windows OS installation after factory reset

How to do a true factory reset on surface pro 5?

I have a surface pro 5 that I bought for work and then they installed some software on it that allows me to VPN, restricts sign on options (no windows hello), prevents access to unknown local networks, etc. I've decided to get a new system, and want to do a complete wipe of the surface so that I can use windows hello and all the other cool stuff.

I went thought the process of a 'factory reset' which is the only thing I can find online. But after that was finished, I still see 'Some settings are hidden or managed by your organization' preventing me from changing my sign in options. So there's still some work related software hanging out somewhere.

What do I need to do to absolutely nuke everything in bios or whatever that allows me to restore the system to the state it was in when it arrived in the box?
