  1. Microphone Volume Level changing

This problem has persisted for as long as I've been using windows 10 and I have never seen a working fix.

My microphone Is plugged in, set to default device in sound control panel and I've set the gain on the microphone itself to where I would like it and have also set the microphone volume under the 'levels' tab of the properties of that microphone where I would like it.

This is fine however when I use some programs such as Microsoft Teams or other online games etc they change the volume level of my microphone. If I pull up the sound control pane --> microphone -->properties --> levels, I can watch the volume level change as I use that specific program eg Teams.

I don't want applications to be able to change my mic level as I have adjusted it to where I want it!

I am aware there is a setting in the advanced tab called Allow applications to take exclusive control. I have unchecked this but applications can still take control! As far as I can see, this setting does absolutely nothing.

After a quick google search into this topic every page suggests to check that this option is unchecked so there is nothing of much help there...

I hope somebody here could enlighten me somehwat if I am missing something obvious. Many thanks

Headphones' Microphone Volume Under the "Levels" Tab Disappeared

We suggest that you check the following steps on how to raise the mic volume:

    • Check the Speaker icon on the system tray. Right click on it and choose "Recording Devices" menu.
    • This will show Sound window. Go to Recording tab of Sound window, you will notice the microphone which is active that has a green check mark. Right click on the active microphone and select "Properties".
    • You will now see Microphone Properties window. Go to the
      Levels
tab and you will now see Microphone and
      Microphone Boos
      t. You can use the sliders to modify your volume settings. Click
      OK button to save changes.

Let us know how it works so we can further assist you.

  3. How to raise microphone volume?

Hi vesvespa, my name is Max and I'm an independent advisor.

I suggest you check your microphone gain level. To do it, try the steps mentioned below:

Right click on Speaker icon (Volume settings) on the Taskbar

    Choose Recording Devices

Click on Microphone and open the Properties

Finally, move the slider to choose the level. It will raise the Microphone and Microphone Boost option.

    Microphone Volume Level changing

    Microphone Sound Level Changing

I'm trying to adjust my microphones volume level by setting the level manually then using and voice recorder program to hear how it sounds. My computer however is automatically changing the volume level to what it thinks it should be when I speak and it
is too high. How do I get it to stop doing that?
