Windows 10: Windows display brightness settings missing

I recently activated a windows 10 Pro key, downloaded the latest graphics driver etc. However, when i went into the windows settings and wanted to change the display brightness, it was no where to be found. On my windows laptop, I could easily find it under the display settings. But now, When i go to the display settings, I can only find the options for; Night Light, Windows HD Color and Scale and layout. When i right click the start button and go to "Device Manager" and look under "display adapters", The "Microsoft Basic Display Adapter" option is missing. Does anyone know how to download it? Is there another way to fix this? Do I need to change anything?

Some computers can let Windows automatically adjust screen brightness based on the current lighting conditions.

To manually adjust the screen brightness, we suggest following these troubleshooting steps:

• Click Start, then select Settings.
• Choose System, then select Display.
• Under Brightness and color, move the Change brightness slider to adjust the brightness.

No brightness control bar is display settings

Thank you for answering the questions. Can you describe to us what you are seeing in the display section? Also, as our initial troubleshooting step, you may try adjusting the screen brightness by going to Power Options. Kindly follow the steps below to check
this.

• Press Windows key and type "power options".
• Select Power Options from the results.
• On the bottom part of the window, you will see the screen brightness slider.

If the problem persists, then please proceed with updating the driver for the Display adapter. Follow these steps:

• Right click the Windows key
  and click Device Manager.
• Expand Display adapters.
• Right-click on the Display adapter listed and click Properties.
• Navigate to the Driver tab and click Update Driver Software.
• Select the option to automatically search for the updated driver software.
• Restart the computer after it's updated and verify.

You may also look into the computer manufacturer website and download and install the latest display and chipset drivers.
