Hello. Trying to keep this as unemotional as possible because Win 10 is making me furious. Straight up aggressive. It's a miracle I have not destroyed this damn laptop yet. Backstory: spent my last money on this HP laptop after my old one has been stolen, regretted it ever since the first day but can't give it back because I spilled water on it (the internet has been an issue way before that already). My phone has also died a couple days ago so now I am stuck with this laptop for college stuff and I NEED it to work because I have essays to do until March.

I am not kidding I have spent hours and hours researching this problem (at night, while crying) and nothing has worked. My internet is slow for NO reason. Works perfectly fine on my phone (or at least USED TO), but it has taken me 10 minutes to even reach this sub, COVID probably already over when this gets posted finally.

We all know slow wifi speed is a huge thing on Win 10 but sometimes I feel like EVERYONE finds a way to fix it except for me.

I have tried anything. All that cmd reset stuff, update drivers, un-update drivers, disable that network-sharing bs they tried to shove into our throats, resetted win 10 hundreds of times, tc optimizer, different wifi connection. Every single link on google is purple and I am not even kidding I feel like I am spending a full time job's worth of hours trying to solve this issue but. nothing. seems. to. work. I am going CRAZY.

So I want to know what has worked for YOU. I want personal stories. Please, I know you mean well, but PLEASE do not suggest a list of things to try because I just can't see that anymore, I have read through dozens of forums and they're all in the same format, worst thing is win 10 support forums where they start with shit like (I know they have to say it so I'm not mad at them): "Hello username, so sorry you are experiencing this problem. We are here to support you" blabla y'all know what I'm talking about.

DROP YOUR STORY. Do not - I am once again begging - do not suggest stuff you have heard that works, I am trying to save you some time, I really am. If you have not experienced this and found a way to fix it, just save yourself the couple minutes! Maybe take a walk, scroll through reddit, don't waste your time on me.

Don't get me wrong, I am thankful for ANYBODY online who has the heart to help, I am just done man, I am done mate, I am done. I want to hear of other people suffering with this and I want to hear their success stories. I want to be understood, like I am a student who is being bullied, I would rather go to other students that got bullied and hear about it than go to a teacher who may have more knowledge, but probably has not experienced the problem and just drops ideas that MAY help.

Thank you and I love you all so much, you are all worthy of love. Hope you have a great day.

    Wifi Very Slow

    Hi,

The following are some reasons that may cause of the slow WiFi connection.

    • Corrupted or incompatible drivers.
    • Missing updates.
    • Network connection settings.
    • Hardware or software problems.
    • Inappropriate distance from the router or obstruction.
    • Interference with other devices.

To isolate the concern, have you checked if the issue persists with other devices? For now, we suggest that you follow the troubleshooting steps provided in this
    article.

    Hi,

Thank your for posting on Microsoft Communities.

Good to know that the issue is fixed. Appreciate your efforts.

In future if you face any issues with Wireless connections, I suggest you to un-install and re-install wireless card drivers and check. Follow the steps:

I would suggest you to un-install and re-install wireless card
driver and check. Follow the steps.

    • Press Windows key + X.
    • Select Device Manager.
    • Expand Network adaptor.
Right click on the wireless card driver and click on Un-install.

Now go to the manufacturer website of your
wireless card or computer and install the latest drivers for your

Wifi very slow on laptop, but ok on other devices - Windows 10

    Hi Annu

I've had the same problem as Panayiotis1984. Upgraded to Windows 10 on my Lenovo from windows 8.1 - now the wifi is painfully slow. The wifi still works fine on my other devices (smartphone etc).

I tried the steps that you suggested but they did not bring an improvement.

    Any other suggestions?

    Michael
