  1. hp bios update not cancelling

so since updating to 20h2, i’ve had an optional update for hp firmware. it installed itself and is a bios update. the first time it came on my screen, i pressed cancel update and kept getting errors about my organisation not working properly, this prevents me from using windows hello pin to log on too. i’m signed into my laptop as the admin on a personal microsoft account so i don’t understand where that’s coming from. so then i shut down my laptop and restart to see that even though i cancelled, it still pops up. i then did this a third time and happened again. i really don’t want to risk doing a bios update because if slight one thing goes wrong, your pc could be bricked. if hp is pushing this update so much on me, will i actually need it as i can’t tell whether the bios needs updating or not? can someone please tell me a fix within the next few hours as i’m currently home learning due to the pandemic and will need to use the laptop tomorrow for it. thanks very much for reading about my issue hp bios update not cancelling :)

Windows 10 Hibernate issue with the HP laptop

    Hi,

Sorry for the delay in response.

We would suggest you to runt the Power troubleshooter and check.

Try to run the troubleshooter and check.

    • Type Troubleshooting in the search box and hit
      Enter.
    • Select View all from the left pane and select Power.
    • Follow the on-screen troubleshooter and try the steps.
We would also suggest you to update the firmware of the BIOS and install the chipset drivers and check.

For steps related to updating firmware for the BIOS and chipset drivers, you may contact the HP.
