Windows 10: Copy Paste is not working from Windows 10 Local System to VM RDP -Windows Server 2016.

The Copy Paste is working from VM RDP -Windows Server 2016 to Windows 10 Local System but vice versa it is not working.

Cannot RDP in to Windows Server 2016

Go to windows server 2016 and log in directly.

Go to server manager.

Go to Local Server

Enable RDP, this is not turned on by default on windows server 2016 anymore because it is always best to use winrm or powershell to manage a server remotely.

RDP is a dangerous port to keep open on a server.

Copy Paste not working when using RDP

Hi guys,
I didn't know where to post so I'm posting in the general section. I've noticed one very weird behavior on my system in the past few weeks. I take RDP sessions of our office servers over VPN. Earlier my copy-paste functionality was working without any issues but the past couple of weeks I've notice that whenever my RDP app is open then I'm not allowed to copy-paste anything. It's like the copy-paste function stops working for as long as the RDP app is open. Once I close it, copy-paste starts working normally.

Has anybody else ever faced this kind of issue or is it just my buggy version of windows?

Windows Copy/Paste from Windows Server 2008 R2 via RDP

Hello all,

I have an issue that has many solutions posted in prior threads, but I have not found an answer that has fixed my situation yet. We have one user who is unable to copy/paste via RDP from/to our Windows Server 2008 R2 server, even though all of her local
settings match everybody else in our organization in the RDP settings (Local Resources -> More -> Clipboard etc). All other users can copy/paste from/to the server via RDP. I have noticed that she has no rdclip.exe on her hard drive (I performed a complete
search of her hard drive), nor does she have it in her running processes, or startup menu. There is a registry entry for it on her local machine, if that helps. This is an up-to-date Windows 10 machine. The computer has been rebooted plenty of times in the
past few weeks since the problem started.
