When I open the Paint app, there's a thick white line that's there by default

When I open the Paint app, there's a thick white line that's there by default. I faintly recall seeing some type of larger blank image window within the Paint window beginning about a month ago in which I attempted to remove it by changing the parameters of it. The result is that what was previously a white window that I didn't want or add to the blue Windows screen of the Paint app became a thick white line across the top of the screen right below the settings bars.

I'm concerned that it may be a type of corruption or malware in which an unauthorized party may be seeking to obtain copies of the images I've had opened on the device and or what I've been working on which is clearly none of their business and is a type of crime.

Please let me know how to remove content of the screen of the Paint app that is there by default although I didn't add it.

I don't see a proper category under which to place this inquiry, such as apps. I trust that you will properly categorize it or let me know how to update the category under which the question is placed.

    Thank you.

    :)

  2. Photos are opening with Paint instead of Photos app

    Hello,

It's likely that your default application for opening photos is Paint. To change your default program in Windows 10 from
Paint to the Photo app, we suggest that you perform the following steps:

    • On the Start menu, select Settings.
    • Go to System, then go to Default apps.
    • Select Photos or any app that you like to be the default under
      Photo viewer.

Update us if the steps above helped you in resolving your concern.

If you don't get Paint 3D in the list as i do, simply press Choose another app, and pick Paint 3D in the list.

But if you want to fix the context menu download,
Default Programs Editor (Context Menu) > run the program > find the correct file type > edit the filetype > done.
