  1. UEFI: Windows 10 PXE-E53 No Boot filename received

Device: Dell inspiron 15 7000 laptop

When booting, Windows boot manager does not make it past Dell logo. Then attempts to run Automatic Repair.

    Restart - same thing

Uninstal latest update - unable to, have pending updates

Boot from UEFI does the same thing.

Boot from legacy shows PXE E53 no boot filename received, as shown in picture

Resetting the PC or any kind of factory image reset does not work, bringing back error messages.

This happens periodically, and usually after Windows tries to install any kind of updatethe updates run to 30% and the machine restarts giving this issue

When it runs, there's nothing I do to make it run. It turns back on and runs like nothing happened. When the machine is able to boot, running sfc/scannow shows corrupted system files but unable to fix.

Also to note, when it runs the hard drive is running at 100% usually 24 7 , is able to read and write but very slowly..could this be a failing hard drive?

Windows also does not recognize any wifi, only giving me the option for ethernet, which was never

an issue before. Windows also does not take keyboard input when trying to search in Windows programs such as Start Menu, any kind of windows search bar, file explorer, etc. But can take keyboard input from every other application. These are all things that happened after Windows tried an automatic update.

I have backed up all of my files and am ready and willing to completely reset this guy and/or replace any parts if necessary.

    :)

PXE-E53: No boot file name received

When cold starting new laptop, I get the following:

Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller Series v2.61 (01/07/15)

    Client MAC ADDR ** ** ** ** ** ** GUID:********-****-****-****-************

    PXE-E53: No boot filename received

    PXE-MOF: Exiting PXE ROM.

Then about one minute later, the machine boots and I have Windows 10

My question is how to I eliminate the above so I can get a faster boot.

What I did to new PC is take SSD drive from old laptop and installed in new laptop.

New laptop has dual drives, so I canged BIOS from UEFI to Legacy and boot order so new laptop would boot from my installed

SSD which has windows 10 pro, better than factory installed win 10.

    Any suggestions appreciated.

PXE-E53 No boot filename received error after Windows Update

My work computer running Winows 10 attempted last night to install an update, but this morning, the manager found that the process was stuck at "Choose your keyboard layout" screen. The manager clicked to choose and the computer restarted and ultimately
loaded the same "choose your keyboard layout" screen. So it appears the update may not have completed.

Eventually, the computer stopped loading the "choose your keyboard" screen and instead displayed screen displaying

"This Product is covered by one or more of the following patents: (…)

Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller Series v2.59

    Intel base-code, pxe-2.1 (build 003)

    Client MAC ADDR […]

    PXE-E53- no filename received

    PXE-M0F: Exiting PXE ROM.

No boot device found. Press Any Key to Reboot the System.

Rebooting system leads back to the same PXE-E53 again and again. We don't know how to escape the loop and actually boot.

  4. UEFI: Windows 10 PXE-E53 No Boot filename received

PXE-E53: No boot filename received when installing windows from USB

I'm running Ubuntu 16.04 and I've downloaded Windows 10 and put the .iso file on a usb drive. I've updated my BIOS to UEFI and chose to boot from the USB. I'm getting the following error:

    PXE-E53: No boot filename received

Most of the help that I've found while researching this is for when the error happens in existing windows systems, and seems to point to an issue with my USB drive, but I'm not clear what that issue is.

Is there a way to fix this error?
