Windows 10: H265 videos lagging when played on Edge

Discus and support H265 videos lagging when played on Edge in Windows 10 Software and Apps to solve the problem; I installed HEVC Video Extensions and I am able to play h265 in "Windows Player", "Movies and TV" player and VLC without a problem.     H265 videos lagging when played on Edge


    I installed HEVC Video Extensions and I am able to play h265 in "Windows Player", "Movies and TV" player and VLC without a problem. But when the video is played on Edge Version 88.0.705.74 I simply drag the file to edge and it creates a tab playing the video it is lagging. Audio is good but video is lagging.


    How to fix this issue?

    can't play h265 video

    i clean install my pc to Windows 10 (version 1511) but im not able to see mkv h265 video with the universal app, it's strange becouse the video start without problem but in black screen, so i can ear only the audio but the video is all black.

    same advice?

    • What is the make and model of your PC?
    • From where did you update the display adapter?
    • Did you check playing in Windows media player?
    • Which file format are you trying to play?
    • Is the issue specific to the Video or all the videos?

    Hi John,

    The latency in playing videos might have been caused by network interruption, or an incompatible graphics driver. For us to isolate the issue, we would like to ask these questions:

    • Does the issue happens when playing videos online or you have experienced the latency when playing videos that are saved on your drive too?
    • Which browser are you using?
    • Have you made any recent changes to your system settings prior to this issue?
    • Have you encountered any network issues?
    • What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

    In the meantime, we suggest that you use Microsoft Edge and
    Internet Explorer     to check if the issue persists. If the issue happens in Internet Explorer, please use this article as your reference:
