Computer crashes randomly, need some help

I have a new computer that I use for mapping and 3D rendering, but it keeps on freezing randomly for no apparent reason. It freezes during random times, whether I'm using a heavy software for 3D rendering, or if I'm just simply browsing through the internet!

I've read on the forums it could be due to USBs plugged into the computer. I took everything off except for the keyboard/mouse and it still freezes. It does this at least 2 ~ 4 times a day, and it already corrupted my external SSD because I had to hard reset every time.

    Computer specs:
    Microsoft Windows 10 Pro
    Version 10.0.18363 Build 18363
    AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3960X 24-Core Processor, 3793 Mhz, 24 Core(s)
    TRX40 AORUS PRO wIFI
    128GB RAM
    x64-based PC

I use a LG UltraGear 34" curved screen with the 5K HDMI cable it came with it
    (Wired) Keyboard + mouse - Redragon S101-3

    I have AVG installed

To be honest, I'm using an extension cord to power both my PC and monitor. Could this be the reason for the random freezing?

Any tips or troubleshooting I can do will be greatly appreciated. I already lost a brand new external SSD to these random crashes, and I definitely don't want to damage any thing else.

    :)

10 Crashing Randomly and During Updates and File Downloads

This is a re-post from here.

I have a Windows 10 PC that I run 24/7. I have Windows Updates disabled through the Group Policy Editor. I still perform updates manually every few days. Windows Defender updates work fine. Other Windows updates cause the PC to crash, no BSOD or anything, it just turns off. I've looked for 1074, 6006, and 6008 event log files to explain why and I haven't been able to find anything.

Other times the computer just randomly crashes and also sometimes when downloading files. The symptom is the same, I check on it and find it powered down or it just shuts off while I'm using it. It boots back up fine and I see no cause listed in the event logs.

I have been through the 3 tests suggested to me on the old thread. SMART looked good, memtest ran for 33 hours for 8 passes with no errors, and prime was run for 3 hours with no errors.

I think the next step was to run V2 Log collector, that data is attached.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Chris

Note Test the system once the overclock is removed before continuing with the steps outlined below.

    Part One: CPU Stress Test
    Part Two: MemTest86+ RAM Diagnostic
    Part Three: Hard Drive Diagnostics
    Part Four: GPU Stress Test

    ONE [/i] CPU TEST
*Arrow Run Prime95 and/or IntelBurnTest to stress test your CPU. Prime95 - Stress Test Your CPU - Windows 10 Forums & CPU - Stress Test Using IntelBurnTest - Windows 7 Help Forums

    Note
Computer crashes randomly, need some help [IMG]

MemTest86+ needs to be run for at least 8 complete passes for conclusive results. Set it running before you go to bed and leave it overnight. We're looking for zero errors here. Even a single error will indicate RAM failure.

Make a photo of the result and post it please.

    Addition:
If errors show up you can stop the test, remove all sticks but 1 and test this single stick in each slot for 8 passes or until errors show, switch sticks and repeat.
If errors show up and you see them a lot later, no problem, the errors don't affect the test.

    Diagnostics Test [/i] HDD TEST

Computer crashes randomly, need some help [IMG]
Note Please run HDTune first, in the order posted!
    *Arrow Run HDTune to
    • check the health,

    • run a benchmark.
It may take some time, but please take the time you need to perform it properly.
When above is done please make screenshots of the following
    • the health,
    • the error scan,
    • the benchmark incl. following
      • transfer rate,
      • access time,
      • burst rate,
      • cpu usage.

In Furmark you can find a tool called 'GPU-Z' (if you want to install GPU-Z is up to you), when GPU-Z is open click on the 'Sensors' tab, on this tab you can monitor
    • the frequency of the GPU,
    • the GPU memory clock,
    • the temperature,
    • the power,
    • the load on the GPU,
    • Etc.
I would like you to make a screenshot of GPU-Z after you have either cancelled Furmark for any reason or Furmark is finished, post this screenshot in your next reply with the result of Furmark.
