Windows 10: D drive shrunk after reset?

Yesterday after restarting my computer I got a "repairing drives" message. It would then fail and give me some options to restart or try to fix or reset drives. Nothing would work including reset drives which would fail every time. So I installed windows from a windows USB stick I had and moved some things over from windows.old. Then I ran a windows version 1909 installer which I had used on my previous installation. Now when I look in explorer my drives are all messed up. C and E drive both are normal but D drive is now showing up as only 50mb although it is a 250gb SSD. When I open Disk Management There are volumes labeled "Games" and "Games D:". "Games D:" is inside Disk 0 but "Games" is in disk one. I can see that the "Games" drive is 232gb but it doesn't show in my explorer??


I am willing to wipe all my drives if necessary, I have my important files on a flash drive. I just want the right D drive to show up in explorer so I can use it again. Thanks in advance.

Based on the details you have provided us, it appears that there might be some corrupted contents on the said partition. We can also consider that this is caused by a virus.

For us to check if a certain virus is hiding your files, kindly follow the steps below:

• Type Command prompt in the search bar.
• Type-in the following command:
  
  attrib -h -r -s /s /d D:\*.*
• Press Enter to execute the command.

If you think that there is nothing important stored in it, then we suggest that you reformat your D drive so that you can use the free space for important files.

You can follow the steps below to start with the process:

• Click on the File Explorer.
• Select This PC.
• Right-click on your D drive, then click on Format.
• Follow the on-screen process to finish formatting the partition.

Allocation of memory from C Drive to D Drive

My Recovery D Drive is full, I have shrunk my C drive by 43GB, how to I allocate that memory to D Drive

 

Cannot access D drive since upgrading to Windows 10.

  Is the D: drive located on the same hard disk or on different hard disk?

  Did you have any important data saved on the
  D: drive?
  

If the D: is saved on another hard disk and you are unable to access it, I suggest you to format the drive completely and check if the issue is resolved.



To format the hard disk, follow the steps below:

• 
  Press Windows logo + X keys on the keyboard and select
  Disk management option.
  
• 
  Right click on the D: drive and select
  Format option.
  
• 
  Wait for the formatting to complete and check if the changes are effective.
