    Is It Safe to Leave WiFi Hotspot On All the Time


    Hey, I just found out I could make my PC a WiFi hotspot, which is WONDERFUL as the WiFi signal in this part of the house is terrible and my PC is hard-wired. That said, I noticed that it has to be turned on every time the PC is started. Is that because it's not safe to just have it on all the time, or is there another reason? I'd love to just have the hotspot on whenever the PC is on.

    Windows 10 wifi not turning on Acer Aspire laptop

    In order to get the list of available wireless networks, you have to:

    1. Switch on Connect to suggested open hotspots (see the screenshot in question);
    2. Click on Wifi icon in the right corner. Now you have your networks back.

    After that the parameter from Step 1 can be turned off, networks will be listed normally after restarting Wifi.

    P.S. I feel rather stupid at the moment. I thought that open hotspots are passwordless hotspots and so are presumably not very safe. So of course I've turned that off during installation.
    Really hard to see any logic in this case.

    Wifi Hotspot Connectivity Problem.

    After upgrading to Win10; my laptop (Sony Vaio VPCEB44EN) is not able to find mobile hotspot network in available wi-fi list. I tried so many times but sometimes its shows the hotspot network and connects but no internet access comes and most of the time
    I cant find hotspot network in wifi list.
