    Occasional thump in sound system

A few times an hour there will be a thump noise coming through the sound system. I have a Logitech x-530 5.1 system that worked really well on the older PC with windows 7. My new PC, an HP desktop with lots of processor power and memory, and using the same sound system, is doing fine except for this thumping thing. It sounds like a car door closing, approximately.

When I try to use the control panel to get to setting power options, it says "your power plan information isn't available" and in blue (a link) it says "Why can't windows retrieve this information?" When I click on that link it takes me to some page that has all kinds of information on it, none of which deals with this issue.

So, I guess I have two questions. How do I retrieve my power plan information? ... and .. How do I get rid of this occasional thump?

Windows version 20H2 OS Build 19042.804

    :)

    Good surround sound headset

I know you say you're not that guy, but stepping into the $250+ range really brings a change in build quality that might have you never having to buy another set. Otherwise, getting 6 speakers with decent sound in a headset is hard, and that's what you are asking for, and I have no suggestions, but just a bump up the list. *Stick Out Tongue Occasional thump in sound system :p

Thumping sound only when in online meetings

If we are in a teams meeting, webex, or any other online web meeting the speakers make a thumping sound whenever someone speaks.

This isn't the case when we are playing music or listening to the audio on a video. Only in web meetings.

Is there some type of redirector service, or service, subsystem associated with audio through a browser that would make is so this only happens in a web meeting and not globally?
